They say how your skin looks in your 30s and 40s depends on how you treat it in your 20s. The damages might not be so evident in your 20s but everything just builds up over time. The elasticity decreases, regeneration slows down and additional nutrients are needed to out do the damages and progressive regeneration. This process might be slow in certain people or might be a lot swifter in other people. The description of the new Vichy lifactiv supreme is alluring and I wanted to give it a try even though I am in my twenties. Read on for my review on the Normal to Combination skin variant
Vichy is undoubtedly a world class brand with a range of highly effective skin care products. Vichy Liftactiv Surpreme contains Rhamnose, a plant sugar that has been experimented on skin cells grown in the lab and has been found to be very effective when it comes to boosting anti-aging properties of the cells. Though Rhamnose is not the’ be all end all’ component to anti aging, different top notch companies use a particular component that addresses the skin cell aging issue. For instance, Lancome Genifique uses a protein that the skin cells produce that aid in firming, lifting and boosting radiance in the skin. Back to Vichy, the Rhamnose has been found to be quite effective when it comes to skin cells grown in a petri-dish. The other components like the antioxidant Neohesperidine are also supposed to aid the skin improvement process
Vichy Claims: A NEW FRONTIER IN SKINCARE: DAILY AGING. For the 1st time, Vichy has proven that signs of aging become more pronounced over the course of the day. It’s not just the years that give away a woman’s age, it’s each passing day. In an exclusive clinical study, Vichy identified key markers that give skin its “tired look” by the end of the day:
Vichy used this new knowledge on Daily-Aging to formulate LIFTACTIV SUPREME’s unique Day Proof Technology. Contains fortifying and soothing Vichy Thermal Spa Water. Paraben-free.
EFFICACY
Immediately: Blur– Instantly smooths the look of fine lines and wrinkles. Brightens complexion.
Until Evening: Stimulate– Skin looks plumped. Features appear younger and more rested.
Over Time: Correct– Deep wrinkles are visibly smoothed. Skin looks firmer.
My Review of the Vichy Cream:
I decided to do an experiment with the Vichy Liftactive and how it performs on two different skin ages; one in 20s (mine) and one in 40s (my mom’s)
To start off, both of our skin types are sensitive. Mine is still oily while her’s have started to dry out and has a bit of spots. But apart from this, there is no other visible skin damage to start with.
The lifactiv cream is thick and opaque and lightly scented. Though it’s not ideal for oily skin (Vichy seems to have a failing in this regard with their lack of products for oily skin), I decided to try it out anyway. I took a bit over the pea sized amount and smoothened it out over my face and neck. It was faintly scented and refreshing. It absorbed quickly and I could feel an immediate stretching and firming effect on my skin, the skin felt taut. I asked my mom if she felt the same, she said she could feel it relaxing the skin and had absorbed it completely.
I was afraid of breakout the next day but luckily the skin didn’t react in a negative manner and felt nourished and bright. That’s right! The vichy cream actually made my skin tone look more consistent and radiant. After over two weeks of use, thought I didn’t see any dramatic changes to my skin, it was visibly smoother and toned. Same for my mom too, having had oily skin all her life, she luckily doesn’t have any fine lines or wrinkles, and her skin looked nourished and bright and the signs of stress and fatigue had disappeared. Isn’t that what firming and anti aging creams should be successful at?
Turns out, though I might not be able to support the claims of its remarkable achievements when it came to fine lines and wrinkles, I can safely vouch that Vichy Liftactiv Supreme does accomplish a great deal when it comes to making the skin look youthful, healthy and nourished. You might decide to skip it in your twenties and might decide to take it on in your late 30s or early 40s but that’s completely up to you.
Price in India: Rs.2350 for 50ml
VNA Rating: 3.9/5 (mainly because of its price in India)

Conclusion: Though, I can’t vouch for all the claims the product makes, I can safely say that Vichy does work to make the skin look healthy, stress-free and nourished. It is paraben free and that gets a lot of brownie points. You might skip it in your 20s but if you are very particular about supplementing the skin with renewal substances to delay the aging process, you just might give it ago. It’s not something that that you might want to experiment with because of the price tag when compared to the quantity. It might be a great gift for your mom. That way I can recommend it fully.

Worth a good try!!
I love Vichy products! This seems worth a try :D
Will recommend this to mom! Thank you :)
Such lovely detailed review!
seems to be good product..But its expensive...
Wow sounds like a great product :) wish it came in a tube
Is it better then Loreal 20+?
the ingredients of vichy are much better than loreal
I like Vichy but the price seems too steep.. Clarins products have always suited me better and I think I would opt for that rather :)
I have good experience using Vichy products, so might buy this one also. Thanks for the review !
