How To Look Like Sonam Kapoor at Cannes Film Festival 2014: Makeup Tutorial and Products Used

By Contributor: Mahima

SONAM KAPOOR, the classy bollywood actress just never fails to stun us with her looks and outfits, same happened at the 67th Cannes Film Festival

. The makeup tutorial that I’ll be doing is the one in which Sonam Kapoor is wearing this really pretty Anamika Khanna twisted net saree, along with Jimmy Choo shoes for the red carpet appearance at the Foxcatcher Premiere at Cannes 2014. The makeup look that she h ad is pretty magical, yes magical! Just because when you see the smokey eye makeup from different angles, it looks quite different and by that I mean that when I saw the pictures, the eye makeup seemed quite dark and black but when I saw it on youtube and in some more videos it seemed quite muted.

So basically the eye makeup look is dual chromatic, it looks quite dark chocolaty from some angles and goldenish brown from other angles. So now lets get started with the makeup tutorial, and yes I was wearing mascara from the starting as I had just came back from grocery shopping with my mum! So excuse that.

Sonam Kapoor Cannes Eye Makeup Tutorial Step by Step:

Step1: Take a gel eye liner or even a pencil would work and apply it too your lower and upper lashline also smudge it on the upper lash line, this will ensure some darkness at the lashline as sonam didn’t had a solid black liner. Product used- L’oreal Paris 24H superliner, gel liner in black.

Step2: Now take a creamy goldenish brown base, and apply it quite lightly on your eye lid. I’m using a golden brown gel liner.

Step3: Now take a golden brown eyeshadow and apply it over the gel liner in a dabbing motion to avoid fallouts. Product used- L’oreal Paris Infallible eyeshadow in Endless Chocolate.

Step4: Now take a rust eyeshadow and blend it into your crease, now notice how I almost joined the color to the brow at the inner corner, I did so because if you’ll see closely at the pictures of her you’ll see that her crease color is lower at the outer corner but thicker at the inner corner. Also whatever is left on the brush take it to your brow bone lightly as she didn’t had an obvious highlight. Apply the same color to your lower lashline as well.

Step5: Now take matte dark brown eyeshadow and lightly add it to your crease.

Step6: Now take an angled brush and barely any gel liner on it apply it really close to your upper lash line. (Tip: If you get too much product on the brush, just swirl your brush back and forth on tissue lightly, this will take off any excess)

Step7: Apply mascarraaaa! In my case I just added a second coat. Product used: L’oreal Paris Volume Million Lashes.

Step8: Apply a silver eyeshadow at the very inner corner but don’t make it too obvious, just a tini tiny bit.

Woohaaala eyes are done!

Now onto the face cheeks and lips. For the face I used

1. L’oreal Paris magic soufflé foundation

2. L’oreal Paris super blendable concealer

For the cheeks I used a deep neutral blush as my contour, I even blended it onto the cheeks as she doesn’t have any blush as such.

For the lips I started off by applying a nude lipstick and then dabbed a little bit of nude lipgloss on top.
