Navratri Special Makeup Look: Deepika Raam Leela Inspired Step by Step Tutorial
By Contributor: Aditi
Panga to koi shuru kare, apni bh karari hai, JIMMY CHOO ki nokh pe rakhi duniya saari hai..What don’t stare at the screen. Aren’t these real classic lines for us girls? And so was this makeup look from the movie Raam Leela. India went gaga over Deepika Padukone and Ranveer’s chemistry and nagada song. And girls got gaga over her sultry festive makeup and chand bali ear ringsso. Trust me every beauty blog in India raved about her look! Here for you all I have tried this makeup tutorial for navratri and garba nights, and yes my girls hu tame sab logo ne bau bau prem karuchu and a very happy and auspicious navratri may maa durga bestow her blessings and strength in all of us. Let’s get started with the steps and tutorial.
Step by Step eye makeup tutorial:
Step 1: start by priming your eyelids because you are gonna dance and have fun so you want your makeup to stay on. And highlight your brow bone using a beige shimmer shade ( MAC ricepaper used)
Step 2: take a brown shade that is 2 to 3 shades darker than your skin tone and apply it all over your eyelid with a flat shader brush (MAC 233 )
Step 3: now with a fluffy angled brush (MAC 275) take a matte dark brown colour and place it in the outer V and crease and blend it well
Step 4: now with a big fluffy brush (real techniques setting brush) take a peachy brown light matte colour and blend the crease colour seamlessly using it as a transition shade, blend well as per your satisfaction
Step 5: with all this blending the lid colour might have withered off so this time again take the same colour used on the lid previously but this time with a wet brush to make the colour stand out more
Step 6: line and smudge your lower lash line with a brown liner very lightly. Create a small flick or cat eye on the outer part of your eyes close to the lash line to add an arch to your eye shape (keep the liner to the outer 1/4th only)
Step 7: curl your lashes using an eyelash curler
Step 8: grab your favourite mascara and add generous coats of it. I used benefit they are real mascara (usually this mascara is great but don’t know what happened..something went wrong with my lashes this time )
Step 9: And thats how your eye makeup should look now
For the lips: deepika seems to to have a muted coral pink shade in the movie so I mixed mac relentlessly red with mac taupe over it.
For the face: Basic foundation and concealer situation here like normal people. Deepika had a glowy healthy face so I used a dewy finish foundation mac face and body and set it with the mac studio fix powder foundation
Then I contoured my cheeks and my nose to have some sharpness like deepika (don’t know why the camera didn’t catch the contouring well) I used mac folie to contour , any matte bronzer can be used or a warm toned matte brown eyeshadow.
Then highlighted the bridge of my nose with a lighter concealer (becca cosmetics compact concealer
)
For blush I used a coral blush (stila harmony)
To highlight the high points of my cheek and tip of my nose is used the Revlon skin lights in bare light to add a subtle glow..
And we are done for the day. Grab your favourite traditional wear and you are ready for dhol baje..dhol baje, nagade sang dhol baje dhaaein dhaaein dham dham dhaeein!! Oh btw thats a 9 step eye makeup look for 9 nights of Navratri!
I like your work.keep it u.but the in the beginning of your post you’ve written karari.its garari actually, punjabi term that refers to stuttering and repeating the same thing(usually when drunk)
I appreciate blog posts such as this one. Naturally, as a somewhat girlie-girl-in-denial, I scour the Internet for quality beauty blogs like this one. When I read skincare advice and product recommendations, there’s this tiny bug whispering in my ear, “Who’s the man/woman behind this sage wisdom? What are *they* like? What’s their story?!” Then, I come across these blurbs about the writers and social media strategists, and my faith is restored. Just like that. I’m reading more than just foundation recommendations, mask facials and highlighting tricks. I’m reading about generations of women passing down, inspiring, role-modeling for their daughters, to encourage them to feel and be beautiful.
I’m really curious to see where The Makeup Blogger will be in the future. I see meaningful and engaging content ahead… but most importantly, empowering messages to both women and men. Yaahs!
