Bridal Friday: Christian Bride – Indian Bridal Makeup Look
By Contributor: Mahima
Even though I’m Punjabi and big fat Punjabi Indian weddings fascinate me, but still I have a wish to marry in a church. Actually I’m just greedy and I want to marry in both the ways, church marriage as well as the typical Punjabi Indian wedding. Anyway, so I thought many of you might be interested in seeing a step by step makeup tutorial on a simple church marriage look along with some tips and tricks. It is also suitable for proms, weddings or basically any special event or maybe a date!
Since church weddings are usually held during day time so the makeup is kept more on the subtle and romantic side using mostly pinks. peaches, corals, purples, etc. The idea is to create clear and bright skin with soft use of colours. Bronzers usually take a back seat. I kept the look quite simple yet classy, so if you wanna see how to re-create this bridal makeup then just scroll down.
Eye Makeup Tutorial for Christian Bride:
STEP1: Start off by applying a white eye pencil or just a white cream eye shadow at the inner tear duct and at your brow bone, blend it away using you fingers (the warmth of your fingers will blend it like a dream). Product used: lakme eyeconic white .
STEP2: Set that liner with a champagne or white eye shadow. Product used- shade 1 from Maybelline copper brown quad.
STEP3: Now take a pink eye shadow, not a hot pink but a muted pink eye shadow and apply it all over your lid.
STEP4: Take a taupe eye shadow or grey or even a brown would work and apply it to your outer corner and crease, make sure you blend it really really well. Also apply the same to your lower lash line.
For both step 3 and 4 I’ve used the eyeshadows from a coastal scents palette.
STEP5: Now take a goldenish brown gel eyeliner (I used Maybelline swirl gel liner in brown and gold and I just mixed both the shades together) and apply it on your upper lash line as well as at your lower water line. The brownish liner will keep the look soft and muted. Product used: Maybelline studio drama swirl gel liner .
STEP6: Smudge that liner away using a brush.
STEP7: Tightline your upper lash line (optional) and apply a good coat of mascara to your top and bottom lashes. Product used: loreal million lashes (blackest black).
STEP8: Wohoo the eyes are done!
Recaping the eye makeup steps
Now lets move onto the lips. You can go on and use a nude or even a bright color, I used Maybelline matte 1 and I blotted it off with tissue which made it quite muted (this pink shade just brightens the whole face, that is why I chose it).
For the cheeks I used Maybelline dream mousse blush in the shade Peach Satin
, its mousse blush hence it looks less cakey or ashy.
AND wohaalaa! We are done! Its one of the easiest and mistake proof way of wearing pink on your eyes which can otherwise be a little tricky to pull off. If you have any requests for any particular bridal look then comment below. Stay tuned for more bridal looks.
