Top 12: Best and Worst Dressed Actresses at Star Screen Awards 2016

Screen awards this year gave some interesting gossip. Especially Deepika-Ranveer fans must have loved the entire show as it was all lovey dovey. Hosting was by Karan Johar and Kapil Sharma, and I couldn’t help laughing at his absurd but relatable jokes. Screen awards 2016 also embraced feminism in beautiful subtle way along with Amitabh Bachhan’s acceptance speech in which he dedicated the award to a woman protagonist who made the film so special. Over all it was all about fashion, bollywood, women and fun. Let’s see who was most best dressed and fun at this 22nd Annual Star Screen Awards night held on 8th January 2016.

List of Best and Worst Dressed at Star Screen Awards 2016:

Sonakshi Sinha in Gauri and Nainika

Sonakshi Sinha appeared in a burgundy gown. The gown was minimalistic which gave Sonakshi a very glamorous look. Also, the colour burgundy was very weather appropriate. She carried it along with side swept hair and nude makeup. Her appearance was splendid on Star Screen Awards.

Deepika Padukone in Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla at Screen Awards

Deepika Padukone wore an Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla bustier top combined with a ruffled skirt. The whole monochromatic look combined with tan-gold makeup initially looked overwhelming to me. That too when she made a severe top knot on her head. But she being Deepika pulled it off. I think a bright lip colour would have looked better in this look. Anyhow it was a fool proof Hollywood look which Deepika carried gracefully at the red carpet. She reminded me of Jennifer Lopez a lot.

Sonali Bendre in Pankaj and Nidhi

Sonali Bendre went for a monochromatic look at the event with embroidered top and wide legged bottoms. For makeup she had neutral Smokey eyes and soft pink lips. Since the top silhouette had volume; a well structured bottom could have a better option.

Sonam Kapoor in Elie Saab at Screen Awards 2016

Sonam Kapoor can be trusted with giving something refreshingly voguish at any time. She stunned this time in a Elie Saab black jumpsuit with a keyhole neckline. She added a full sleeved jacket and boots at the awards show. Her hair was kept in soft curls and makeup was as usual on point. She also went for totally Kylie Jenner pouty lips.

Jacqueline Fernandez in Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla at Star Screen 2016

Jacqueline Fernandez seemed to enjoy the whole award function to the fullest. She wore a pastel ruffled saree with a cross-necked blouse. She wore winged eyeliner and looked absolutely doll. The ruffled saree gave a pretty gown look.

Nimrat Kaur in Shehlaa Khan

Nimrat Kaur and Akshay Kumar were highlight of Star Screen Awards for their latest movie Airlift. I absolutely loved this movie. Did you too? Well, I’m not a fond of her gown. But her sleek side parted hair and her makeup was something to look for. She was literally glowing.

Rekha in Kanjivaram Saree at 22nd Screen Awards

Rekha attended award function in her signature style. This time she chose a gold Kanjivaram saree with gold jewelry and potli bag. When Amitabh Bachchan got award for ‘Best Actor’ she embraced and congratulated Jaya Bachchan. It created quite a buzz in gossip world but I think it was very graceful of her to extend a hand of friendship in public.

Gauhar Khan in Tanieya Khanuja

Gauhar wore an edgy white gown. Gown had colorful abstract print which totally worked as an offbeat design. She did her hair in top knot and bright bubblegum pink lips. Since the gown was already so edgy, her in-your-face lipstick looked very weird. Something more muted would have been much better against such outfit.

Shilpa Shetty in Monisha Jaising at Screen Awards

Shilpa Shetty chose a very pretty berry colored sequenced gown by Monisha Jaising. Her gown embraced her figure amazingly. But there was nothing interesting to look at. She did her hair in soft waves and bold makeup. She looked pretty nevertheless.

Aditi Rao Hydari in Gaurav Gupta

Aditi made an unconventional choice in navy blue gown. The multicolor floral embellished gown gave her a very regal look. Her hair was kept neatly open with just a hint of colour on her lips. She looked gorgeous as ever. She carries everything with elan.

Preity Zinta in Manish Malhotra at Screen 2016

Preity Zinta wore a black velvet gown by Manish Malhotra. Bubbly and charming as ever she carried off the look very well. Her updo and glossy makeup very really complimentary but the gown itself was boring and looked out of fashion. Preity can do much more interesting than this?

Esha Gupta in Sanjay Garg

Our very own bollywood Angelina Jolie embraced ethnic at Screen Awards this year. Do you also think she resembles Jolie a lot?  Anyhow. Sanjay Garg lehenga was goegeous but with that makeup it became a little overwhelming. She looked right out of some Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s movie. With such a heavy outfit, makeup choice should have been a little subdued and neutral. I like her hair btw, looks refreshing.
