Skin79 Super+ Blemish Balm Pink Label Review, Swatches Okay I know what you are thinking, “so after a million reminders she is finally in a mood to review it!” Okay I know I got my hands on it way back in August but I wanted to give it every little chance it deserved before bashing it up on my blog. Since this was my very first
BB cream and if you follow me on facebook, you know how very much I
wanted needed a BB cream in my life. All I would think about was BB creams, it was my crush, obsession, object of fixation..whatever you call it. Okay before I start sounding like I was looking for a relationship with it, let’s move to the review ans swatches.
It claims: A triple function blemish balm cream that shields skin from premature aging with potent SPF 25, while whitening skin and reducing existing lines and wrinkles. The creamy formula effectively covers up skin imperfections, creating a perfect base for makeup and foundation. Skin feels and looks fresh, with a gorgeous matte finish all day long.

I know there is a lot of hype around this particular BB cream. Needless to say I expected a lot. Before that let me tell you what I expect from a BB cream?
That it should be my all in one product, like you should not need a separate sunscreen, moisturizer, concealer and a foundation. And it should improve my skin over time, since they call it blemish balm and balms are supposed to be remedies. BB creams are also known for one particular feature – whitening. But since I’m not a great whitening supporter, I expect it to come in a range of shades so that everyone can have their share. Nothing too much, right?
First of all you DO need a moisturizer with this one. If you apply it sans any
primer or moisturizer it will be difficult to blend since the texture is thick and secondly it will cling to the dry patches. Yes coming from an oily skin girl herself. And in winters, you need a very heavy dose of moisturizer first. And since the texture is thick you need quite an effort in blending. The
coverage is light like your regular
tinted moisturiser, meaning it will cover the redness but not the dark spots and marks.
And the most unusual part is that it doesn’t has those yellow or pink tones. No its not neutral either. It simply has grey undertones. The shade is a tad lighter than my skin tone but BB creams are known to oxidize within a few minutes, it tries to adjusts to my skin tone. Only tries. I fall in the NC 35-40 category and the shade is better suited to someone around NC 20-25. You see huge difference, so no matter how much it oxidizes it can never reach my actual colour which results in an ashy appearance.
Here are the swatches: (my leopard print PJs peeping through!)

You can see an obvious white cast on the area where I applied the cream.
So my issues with this BB cream are:
~shade
~coverage
~texture
Hence I don’t recommend it. I can adjust with the texture and coverage but the shade match is something I cannot compromise with.
But if you are still keen on buying this one, then make sure you fall somewhere around NC/NW 25. And I hope you have read my post on How to know if your Skin79 Super+ BB Cream is authentic or fake?
By the way, they have a gold and orange label too. The gold one is a tiny bit darker than this one. The orange one I’ll review later(have to test first!). And I’m currently liking Skin Food and Missha a lot. Reviews will follow soon.
And now Picture of the day:
What did you expect?! I ♥ Oranges
So what are your views on it? Have you tried the Skin79 BB Cream? Want to try?
