Satliva Organic Products: Review, Price, How To Use

Review, Price of Satliva Organic Beauty Products Face Butter, Shampoo Bar, Hair Cream, Lip Balm

Satliva makes handmade hemp body and hair care products. While there are various brands in the market which promise to deliver ‘organic’ but infuse various harmful chemicals, Satliva products are 100% natural and deliver what they promise. I have been trying out their extensive range of skin care and hair care and enjoyed the experience throughout. Before this, I hardly had any knowledge about hemp. It is basically a good source of omega-3, omega-6 and omega-9 fatty acids, which are called essential fats.

In addition hemp also has plenty of Iron, magnesium, sodium, potassium, SPF 6 and Vitamin D. The products are completely non-comedogenic, which is great for someone like me whose skin breaks out left, right and center. So, let’s get straight to the reviews of each product.

Satliva Raspberry Lip Balm – Rs. 260

satliva-products-review-price

The lip balm is something I need 12months a year because I have naturally dry lips. Matte lipsticks are my favourite  thus my lips require a constant dose of hydration. Chemical based lip balms do keep the lips supple but once they fade off, the dryness returns. So, organic or chemical free lip balms are naturally nourishing and work great for me.

The Satliva Raspberry Lip Balm has the simplest packaging. It comes in a small glass tub with a metal cap. The lip balm looks slightly yellowish in the tub but comes off completely clear on the lips. Thus, you can apply any lip color on top. It has a different kind of berry-mint aroma which I have come across for the first time. This isn’t your usual artificial fragrance but completely natural. But it fades away in a few minutes, if you are not into fragrances. The texture of the lip balm is pretty thick in the tub but it melts really well on the lips. This is why you don’t need to slather too much. It immediately hydrates the lips and has a soothing effect.

Make your own DIY lip scrub with it:

I often use this as a lip scrub with brown sugar. When I am in a hurry to remove the dead flakes from my lips, I apply a generous amount of satliva lip balm and smear brown sugar granules and massage the lips slightly. Doing this for around 2-3mins plumps up the lips very well and gives you nourishing soft lips for the whole day.

The raspberry lip balm is enriched with Hemp Oil, Cocoa Butter, Bees Wax, Spearmint Essential Oil and Red Raspberry Oil. All these ingredients are extremely good for the lips and don’t dry out the lips even after fading off. The Red Raspberry Seed Oil has a naturally high SPF of 28-50 and works great for pigmented lips. So you can wear it out in the sun to protect your lips. The mixture of Cocoa Butter and Bees Wax is extraordinarily hydrating for the lips. Compared to various other lip balms in the market which are chemically infused, this is a wonderful option for naturally dry lips.

Satliva Hemp with Argan Hair Oil – Rs. 1690

Satliva Hemp with Argan Hair Oil comes in a wonderful packaging. It is enclosed in a sturdy cardboard box with all the information. The oil is encased in a dark brown coloured glass bottle with a stopper on the mouth to dispense the product. The mouth of the bottle is further enclosed with a black screw cap. The oil is light yellowish in color and has an evident Ayurvedic fragrance. It has the aroma of Argan and Rosemary Oil and the cooling sensation is immediately felt once you apply the oil.

The oil has a thick consistency; almost like castor oil which makes it the perfect oil for the overnight champi. It imparts a wonderful cooling sensation and for summers, I have loved it like anything.

How I use it for hair spa?

Sometimes I even warm up the hair oil and apply from roots to tips followed by a good head massage to stimulate blood circulation. My hair is curly-wavy and extremely dry because I use too many heat appliances. When you use a warm hair oil, it gets absorbed faster in your scalp. A lot of people use hot towels or steamers to do that but heating up your oil slightly does the trick too.

I make it a point of using a hydrating and nourishing oil like this overnight before shampoo. It is perfect for normal to dry hair and hydrates my tresses well. I have noticed my scalp irritation has reduced drastically and my hair feel so soft and nice. This hair oil can be used on colour treated hair as well. The hair fall control took sometime but I consistently used it for a few months and it definitely gave positive result on scalp. It promotes hair growth and keeps the hair healthy. It has the goodness of Castor Oil, Hemp Seed Oil, Argan Oil and Rosemary Essential Oil which works magically for my hair. With regular usage, you will notice the reduction in split ends as well. I have to admit the hair oil takes two washes to wash off completely but hey who cares if the results are this amazing!

Satliva Hair Cream with Peppermint Essential Oil – Rs. 1,060

The Satliva Hair Cream with Peppermint Essential Oil comes in a medium sized thick glassed cylindrical jar with a flat screw cap. It has a light yellow colour and has a thick creamy consistency. It is very light weight through and once you rub in on the palm of your hands, it melts. The melting is extremely refreshing as it has the aroma of peppermint but nothing that would hurt the nose at all. The product is best suitable for dry and frizzy hair. Also, curly hair would love to use this product.

Different ways I use this hair cream:

  1. I used the product in a number of ways. I use it a few hours before shampoo and apply the cream from root to tip as a hair mask. Then I keep it on with a shower cap and wash it off. This is the best way to use the hair cream if you have normal to oily scalp.
  2. For my dry hair, I mostly like to use it as conditioner on my ends post shower. It gives a slightly wet look. If you are going to try sleek no frizz hairstyles, this is a great cream for that.

It is very nourishing and hydrating for the hair. You only need a small amount for your entire hair so it lasts quite long.

Satliva Hemp with Argan and Activated Charcoal Shampoo Bar – Rs. 379

satliva-products-review-price

I have never used a shampoo bar before and this was the first time for me. The Argan and Activated Charcoal Shampoo Bar comes in a beautiful sturdy cardboard box with all the information written about the product. The shampoo bar is rectangular in shape  and black in color, due to the presence of charcoal.

You have to dampen the hair and rub the shampoo bar on the hair directly. I generally part my hair in various sections and apply the same for best results. Once you have applied, it has  lathers up pretty well. The shampoo has a wonderful refreshing and earthy smell and drives away the oily odour from your scalp. There is a mild exfoliating texture of the bar which exfoliates your scalp gently and increases blood circulation. This is great for hair growth.

The shampoo is enriched with the goodness of Coconut Oil, Castor Oil, Palm Oil, Hemp Seed Oil, Argan Oil, Activated Charcoal, Peppermint Essential Oil and Lemon Grass Oil. Lemongrass is beneficial in strengthening your hair follicles and helps with other scalp conditions too. Activated charcoal cleans, removes impurities and absorbs excess oils without stripping your hair of natural oils. It cleanses the scalp as well as hair really well and I follow up with a good conditioner after washing. Since I have dry hair, I try and use the shampoo only twice a month to get that squeaky clean feel. You can also lather up in your hands and work through the dampen tresses.

Satliva Hemp with Cocoa Butter Body Soap Bar – Rs. 379

satliva-products-review-price

This is, by far, my favourite Satliva product. The Cocoa Butter Body Soap Bar comes in a beautiful sturdy cardboard box with all the information written about the product. The soap bar is rectangular in shape and soft brown in color. The soap has a wonderful lemongrass fresh scent with a hint of peppermint. The aroma is slightly tricky to describe, you have to smell it to know what I am talking about. It is a kind of fragrance I want when I am going to start a long. It immediately wakes you up! Overall, I love the fragrance.

The soap bar is enriched with Coconut Oil, Castor Oil, Palm Oil, Hemp Seed Oil, Cocoa Butter, Lemongrass Essential Oil and Peppermint Essential Oil. It is truly enriched and has various hydrating and cleansing properties. It lathers up very well on the skin. The Lemongrass essential oil opens pores in the skin and helps relieve congestion of the pores. Whenever I use this soap, I skip the moisturizer happily as it nourishes my skin very well. Cocoa butter is great for replenishing lost moisture and helps to protect and lubricate the skin. This is a soap bar which will work on every skin type, all year round.

Sativa Hemp with Moringa Face and Body Oil – Rs. 1690

satliva-products-review-price

The Sativa Hemp with Moringa Face and Body Oil comes enclosed in a sturdy cardboard box with all the information. The oil is encased in a dark brown coloured glass bottle with a stopper on the mouth to dispense the product. The mouth of the bottle is further enclosed with a black screw cap. One of the best things I like about this oil is that the oil has a very mild fragrance. The aroma resembles that of Tea Tree oil accentuating the herby notes of Rosemary essential oil as well. This refreshes the skin without being strong for your nose.

The oil is a rich blend of Castor Oil, Hemp Seed Oil, Moringa Oil, Tea Tree Essential Oil and Rosemary Essential Oil. No doubt, the oil is hydrating for both face and body. The Rosemary essential oil has astringent qualities, which helps make the skin strong and supple while the Tea Tree Essential Oil is anti bacterial in nature.

In summer and monsoon, I generally avoid applying oil on the body but there are days when I love to pamper my skin with nourishing and ayurvedic oils. It hydrates your skin instantly and gives a healthy sheen and glow. I often use it after shaving my arms and legs and it moisturizes my skin throughout the day. I definitely see myself using this oil more during winter. I have oily acne prone skin so I don’t like to use facials on my face but it might work well for those with dry skin.

How else I use it?

I sometimes use it as a cleansing balm and face massaging cream. For cleansing butter, it is a wonderful product as it removes heavy layered makeup quickly and after that I generally wipe off my face with a wet tissue. The skin feels soft and supple throughout the day. It also works great for massaging the skin and then removing the excess with a wet wipe.
