Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter Berry Smoothie Review and Swatches

Smoothies! My first tryst with smoothies happened when I saw this show on pogo where a cute firang was debating over a strawberry smoothie and a whipped vanilla smoothie. That was back in school and that scene haunted me for months. All I could see in my dreams were smoothie – big, small, whipped, frozen yogurt, fruity, juicy smoothie smoothie. How I got it is another story but the point is I never imagined I would ever have a smoothie just for my lips!

Oh yes. My Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter (the whole makeup world is going gaga over it) is in the shade Berry Smoothie. The colour is a soft muted rosey berry pink. It has got some plum undertones to it. But basically this is the colour you can wear to schools, colleges, offices…..anywhere! One coat gives you light rose pink lips. A couple of swipes more and it turns watery berry plum pink. At first I wished I had gotten another shade but given the wearability and versatility of this shade I fall in love with it every time I wear it. It gives this glossy water like shine along with a nice dose of colour. Although the colour is light but it never washes me out.

I thought the “butter” part was a marketing gimmick but it really glides like butter and keeps your lips moisturised like a lip balm. It lasts on me for about 3hrs without eating so you need to reapply it atleat twice a day. But it you have very dry flaky lips then I suggest you apply a thin coat of a lip balm under it.

The USP – the liquid like berry rose colour it imparts. You have got to see it to believe how pretty the colour looks in person .

Why You Should Buy The Lip Butter:

• It basically works like a lip balm, lipstick and lip gloss. So it replaces all 3 of them.
• Wide variety of colours to choose from. Apart from Berry Smoothie I recommend Candy Apple, Sweet Tart, Tutti Frutti.

Its light enough to be worn to schools and colleges. The lip butters are true to their name and glide like butter and feel soft. The lasting power depends on the shade. This one being so muted stays for about 3hrs and after that needs a re-application. Highly recommend.
