Pond’s have been notching up their products in the Indian markets recently and the proof of this can be seen in the increased number of creams, serums and face washes occupying the shelves. So today, I have the Pond’s White Beauty Daily Spotless Lightening cream in my possession which I have been using and testing. Let’s have a look at the review and see how it fares.
Ponds Claims: This nourishing non-oily light day cream with the new, cutting-edge White Beauty GenWhite formula SPF 20 PA++ works deeply to reduce dark melanin production. To lighten, brighten and fade dark spots, while providing instant radiance. Discover spot-less fair skin like before.
The cream has a mousse like fluffy texture which feels incredibly soft. Even though the cream is white in colour, it does have a pink tone running through it. When I first applied it to my face and started blending, I could feel the cream thickening up a bit and getting absorbed into the skin almost instantly. The funny part is that the cream provides almost no moisture to the skin, it just gets absorbed and mattifies to some extent. It does, however, have a brightening effect on the skin but it fades after an hour or two. The product does contain and SPF of 15 which for us living under the Indian sun is quite minimal but it is some kind of protection, nonetheless.
If you are someone who likes the nostalgic scent of the Pond’s dreamflower talc then this product will satisfy with its scent. It has a strong and distinct flowery scent to it that hangs around for quite some time. But any skincare item with a strong scent, in my opinion, just irritates the skin. After using this product for about 2 weeks, I have to admit that I did not see any results at all. The spots on my face didn’t show any signs of fading nor did my skin get any more radiant. The ingredient list, however, was successful in making me cringe! The plethora of harmful chemicals and parabens in this product is amazing and, quite frankly, disturbing.
Price: Rs. 125
VNA Rating: 3/5
Conclusion: The Pond’s Daily spotless whitening cream doesn’t really do much for the skin from a skincare point of view. If you have moderately oily skin, then, this may succeed in oil control. But overall, it is better to steer clear of it.
