Old Wine In New Bottle. That was my first ever email id. I’m talking of the time when the only computers you saw were fat gigantic white boxes. I’m talking of the time when PCs were only found in cyber cafes and school computer labs. I’m talking if the time when the internet speed used to be so slow that you had fold your hands in front of computer ji and beg it “please chal jaa
And right now that is all I can think of whenever I use my new Ponds BB cream. Why? Read on!
Shade: It comes in only 1 shade which is made for medium skin. I fluctuate between nc35 to nc40 (in extreme summers!) and it suits my skin tone. Not a bang-on-woaa-perfect match but close enough to wear everyday. Too much of it makes me look unnaturally white though. They should bring atleast 2 more shades in it. If you are too fair or too dark then I’m sure t won’t suit you.
Texture: The BB cream has got a thick consistency (thicker than garnier bb cream and maybelline bb cream). But its easy to blend. If your skin is moisturized properly then it spreads quite easily.
Moisturization: Its a beauty cream so don’t expect much of moisturization. I use a separate moisturizer with it (Avon day cream….review coming soon!)
Skin Type: Now since the texture is thick so I don’t feel like wearing it everyday. Its 48 degrees in Delhi right now! Actually I don’t feel like anything in this weather. Whats the use when I’m gonna wipe my face with a wet tissue in just 30mins after leaving my home? The finish it gives is semi-matte. I’ve oily skin and it makes my T-zone oily in 2hrs. This may change with the weather. Right now I powder my face with Mac Msf. The lack of moisturization properties will trouble excessive dry skin too.
Coverage: The coverage is medium. It can cover minor spots and pigmentation. The coverage is better than the rest of BB creams available in India. It gives a subtle glow. So I guess by the “fairness” claim Ponds meant the brightening effect it gives.
Ponds BB cream vs Ponds Age Miracle Tinted Moisturiser:
They are almost same!! All the features I mentioned were there in the Ponds TM too. Now you can guess why it was my favourite! But the tinted moisturiser came in 3 shades while the BB cream comes in just one. And the TM was priced at Rs.225 but the BB cream is available in Rs.69 and Rs.125! Its just old wine in newer sleeker pinker cheaper tinier tube.
Let’s look at the photos and swatches:
Here it is on my face
I clicked the before photo just after my bath. This is the time when my skin is at its sensitive best. The photo with the BB cream was clicked in the evening so it didn’t come out that clear. No artificial light. My skin tone is more even and the light pigmentation around my mouth and under eyes is decently covered.
Price: Rs 125 for 18gm and Rs 69 for 9gm
My Rating: 4/5
So is it for you? Yes if you are medium toned and have normal skin or don’t mind using a seperate moisturizer and compact powder with it. It covers light scars and spots and even out your skin tone. The finish is semi-matte and it gives a subtle brightening glow for a few hours. A great budget option for Indian women!

Would have bought it if it had something for my too white skin. Better stick to the maybelline bb stick :p
now i want to try it too!!
I just bought the teeny packaging ! hope it works on me at par to the old tm !
:D
haha i'm sure it will impress you too
I want to try it now because it's dupe of notoriously famous TM, you loved that TM too. I never had a chance to try that TM because I was not into makeup that much and a tinted moisturizer pushed me away because it gave me a feeling of foundation. By the time I got into makeup, it was discontinued (bummer!!) so many thanks for the review. I may shell some bucks on it now which isn't a lot for that matter. <3
you shall definitely try it jiya..you will love it i'm sure!
I hope it's a dupe of Pond's TM. I would be stocking up on it before Pond's discontinues it again!
You look beautiful Ansh. I envy your blemish-free skin!
its not completely..but has got its own good skin n bad skin days!
