We all fall in love with or try our luck with herbal/natural products at some point of time or other. And I think I have had my calling! Today’s review is about the Ramdev Patanjali Saundarya Face Wash. Recently, I visited a Patanjali Arogya Centre with mom and I found a lot of products very promising. I did some melodrama and convinced mom to let me do some shopping. How could I not take notice of those awesome sounding products labeled in ‘shuddh Hindi’
Well, now let me show you one of the products I hauled from Patanjali. Soundarya Face Wash with orange peel, neem, tulsi and aloe vera. Sounds interesting, isn’t it? Read on to know if it does what it claims or is it just another budget face wash?
Patanjali Claims: Made from the natural extract of orange peel, neem, tulsi and aloe vera which cleanse gently, nourish and revitalize the skin tissues, to make complexion fresh, smooth and beautiful.
Soundarya Face Wash comes packed in a white colored, opaque plastic tube with a whiter colored flip open cap. The tube is very neat and the packaging is strong. The cap needs some pulling and tugging and scratching to flip it open. However, this feature makes the face wash travel friendly and spill proof. Though the ingredients list reads the face wash to be of gel base, I highly feel it is of cream base. The face wash has a refreshing smell of orange peel extracts. I just love such citrus fragrance.
Patanjali Face Wash is white in color and has a creamy, somewhat thick consistency (for a gel based face wash). The face wash lathers very much. Infact, it lathers too much. Even a pea sized amount produces a lot of foam. It lathers like shaving foams! I do not like too foamy cleansers or face washes. While using it for the first time, it became a lot messy for me as it lathers very much in comparison to other face washes. Had the product label read ‘facial foam’ in place of ‘face wash’, it would have been appropriate. Now, I take care to squeeze out very little amount.
After rinsing off the face wash, my face feels softer, smoother and imparts a glow (superficial, though!). The smell of orange peel remains for some minutes. The face wash nicely removes dirt, oil and dullness from my face. Though there is some glowing effect, it is temporary and lasts for a few minutes, say for 15-20 minutes. The face wash freshens up my facial skin as claimed. But again, all the cleansers are capable of doing it. The Soundarya Face wash from Patanjali has glycerin and it does not dry out my skin. And most important, it has not broken me out.
Price: Rs.60 for 60gm
VNA Rating: 3/5

Conclusion: Patanjali Soundarya Face Wash is meant for normal to oily skin. Dry skinned souls stay away. It will dry out your skin. If you have a good skin texture without any noticeable or worrysome skin issues or flaws, give this face wash a shot. Others who have to deal with uneven skin tone or blemishes or pimples or any skin issue, you may not find this face wash useful. There are better options available in the market.
