Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Swivel Stick: Review, How to Use

By Contributor: Aruna

Carrying a bottle of moisturiser in your handbag isn’t always the best idea and yet, I always end up doing just that. If I am lucky enough, the cap stays shut and doesn’t make a gooey mess. Having dry skin can be such a pain and that is why I thanked the forces when this little swivel stick from Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula which I will review today dropped into my lap. I honestly can’t believe that anybody hasn’t thought about this before. Wouldn’t it be cool to have a moisturiser in a stick form which you could just use and throw in your bag in a second? This is so ingenious! And the best part is that the swivel stick can be doubled up as a lip balm too.

Palmer’s Claims: Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Swivel Stick provides on-the-spot help for marks and blemishes and is ideal for touch-up moisturizing on face and body.  Also may be used to moisturize and soothe dry, cracked, chapped lips.

My Review of Palmer’s Swivel Stick:

The product comes, as the name suggests, in swivel stick form. The swivelling function of the product moves smoothly, however, I haven’t really had the guts to bring it all the way up as I’m not quite sure that it will go all the way down again. The design of the packaging is no fuss, convenient and small enough to fit very nook and corner of your handbag with ease. You also do get an awful lot of product in it ( 14 grams) which will probably last a lifetime.

The texture of the moisturizer is thick but blend able. The moment you apply this to your skin, the body heat melts it and you have to put almost no effort in blending it. The skin absorbs the product immediately

and you can see no oiliness on the skin, in fact, the skin becomes supple and hydrated. The same goes for when it is applied on the lips as a lip balm. You won’t see this giving a glossy finish to the lips as other balms but it makes the lips look smoother and truly does heal them.  The scent of this is so delicious that I have often been tempted to take a bite of it (no kidding) The lip balm has a beautiful vanilla and chocolate scent to it which only reminds you of the good things in life (e.g. candy) and doesn’t bother the senses at all.

Seeing the way that this swivel stick moisturised my skin and made it smoother, I was tempted to try this out as a primer beneath my foundation. And the results were absolutely gorgeous. There was no denying that my skin looked hydrated, healthy and as if it were glowing from within. This truly is a multi-purpose product! I would, however, refrain from using this regularly on the face as the stick moisturizer does contain mineral oil and fragrance which are not the best ingredients for your skin’s health.

The moisturising properties of this twist up stick are truly commendable and so is the staying power. This one easily kept my skin hydrated on a particularly dry skin day for around six hours till it eventually faded away. In my opinion, the sheer convenience of this palmers stick and its amazing multi-purpose personality makes it a must have for all dry skinned girls on the move.
