Outfit of the Day: Floral Palazzo Pants
By Contributor: Saniya Dilori
I’m back on VNA after a long time! A big hug to all those who liked my previous outfit posts and wrote such nice comments on them. For those who are new here, Anshita featured me in the Starlets on Streets section for my red tunic outfit, leopard outfit, colour blocked outfit and my french hair braid. That time I wasn’t comfortable with sharing my pics online so I had to urge her to crop my face out. BUT those inhibitions are gone! Now click me if you may..I don’t complain!
I’m going to show you how I styled my palazzo pants. I bought them in the summer vacations but always thought of them as something very OTT for college wear. Full respect to the girls who can wear them just anywhere.
So when we had our college freshers part for juniors, I knew it was the perfect chance to take out my floral palazzo trousers for a little test drive. Short girls generally shy away from the palazzos but really just throw in a pair of wedge heels and you are good to go.
Since the palazzos take center stage, you should pair it with something less attention grabbing. I paired mine with a grey top. I didn’t accessorize much too. Palazzo pants have a lot of flair so keep your top tight or tuck it in. Also, since palazzos are high waisted they give an illusion of longer legs. All you need to find is a flattering shade and pattern. Keep the colour a little dark so you look thin. As for the prints, go for small patterns than big prints.
A little drama can never hurt!
Btw if you have put on a little weight then please don’t make it an excuse for not wearing the palazzo pants. I’m slightly on the plump side but that has never stopped me from wearing any new style or trend in the market. The moment you stop caring so much about what others think, they stop judging you! So today’s gyaan is: short and plump girls CAN wear palazzo pants too.
As for my makeup, I mixed Oriflame Skin Perfect foundation and Lakme cc cream for my base. I kept the eyes very light and only did thick black liquid eyeliner. For my lips, I used Lakme 9 to 5 lipstick in Coffee Command. I don’t know what got in my mind but I went really subtle that day! Maybe because it was so hot so I didn’t want my makeup to melt. Plus it was an outdoor day event.
This I think is the best photo from the whole lot. Yes its not candid but posed!! So that’s my outfit post. Feels great to be back! Would be doing more easy college outfits soon.
