Black means the graduating robes (which I could only dream of..in Delhi University we don’t have a convocation ceremony..beat that! the results are posted on the internet and that’s about it),

I cannot agree more with the official description. One of the best things about this eye shadow, apart from being black , is its totally matte. Its one of those staple eye shadows which you NEED in your vanity. Now c’mon every girl needs a matte black eye shadow, there are so many ways in which you can use it..will list them below.

The formula is very nice for a drugstore eye shadow. The pigmentation in one swipe is not intense black but after 2-3 swipes it does gets rich black. So you will need to build this up. You can always use this wet for a much more intense black. Blending is very easy with this one. The wear time is about 3+ hours without creasing and fading but with a primer the lasting power is increased upto 6+ hours.

Its often said to be a close (if not exact) dupe of Mac Carbon eye shadow, well I don’t have Carbon so I can’t compare it but its a good alternative if you don’t want to invest in Mac. Also, this is one of the top 10 Nyx eye shadows to try according to makeupgeek .

How I use the Nyx Black Eyeshadow:
~ In the outer corner for smokey effect.
~As a lid base for my less pigmented dark eye shadows.
~On the eye liners to smudge them for a soft look.
~On my kohl to set it and make it smudge proof.
~As an all over lid colour when I have my goth attacks :P

So is it for you? Yes if you want a good black eye shadow which is matte, easy to blend and lasts for about 6 hours with a primer without smudging or creasing. The colour pay off in one swipe is not that black but its easily buildable and you get a dark black after 3-4 swipes or when used wet. And anyway you need atleast one black in your kitty for the reasons specified above.
