Lip balms have been my go to product in the recent months. I guess that is simply because they are easy to apply and go light on my wallet too. But the only thing that bothers me the most is the lack of variety and quality in the Indian market! I mean, at the end of the day, a lip balm’s job is to nourish your lips and heal them which a quality rarely found in any of the products available. Lately I have been putting the Nivea Fruity shine Lip Care lip balm range to the test and today, I will be reviewing and swatching the shade Strawberry.

My Review:
I have always raved about the amazing texture of these lip balms. Forget the tint, the scent or the packaging! It’s the texture that scores the most points in this product. It sits somewhere right in between and gives the lips a beautiful glossy shine that almost equals a lip gloss. Not too thick or thin it easily keeps the lips hydrated as long as it is on which is an average of 3 to 4 hours
The pigmentation on this colour is far, far better than what I have seen on the other ones. Even though the colour in the tube gives the distinct impression of being a warm red, that doesn’t translate onto the lips. On application, you get a corally, orange tint which I had originally expected from the Nivea fruity shine Peach shade. There are b its of shimmer that are visible in the tube but none of it comes on the lips. All you are left with is a glossy coral orange tint which looks amazing on medium skin tones.
If there was one reason that I would give for you to buy the nivea strawberry shade, it would be the scent! Who on earth doesn’t like the smell of strawberries? And you get that beautiful berry scent which has been replicated in this lip balm. The scent is not overpoweringly strong or fake but there is a definite scent of strawberries in the air the moment I take the cap of the tube!
Packaging wise, these fruity shine lip balms are sturdy enough for a good jostle in the handbag. The caps come colour coded so you recognize the colour you want easily if you own too many of them (Guilty!). There is nothing fancy about it but it is practical enough at the price which you are getting it in.
