Tinted lip balms are always the second thing that you will find in an Indian girl’s handbag besides kajal. It is such an essential that even the girls who hate makeup will have at least one in their possession. But it’s not the availability that is the issue with such a product. It’s actually the quality. Finding a tinted lip balm that moisturises and provides a good enough tint is comparable to finding the holy grail, in my opinion. Today I shall be reviewing the shade Peach from the Nivea lip care lip balm fruity shine range.
My Review:
Looking at the tube, it’s not the kind of colour that I would normally opt for. I much prefer my strong reds and my soft warm pinks but I decided to give this one a fair try. I had hoped that it would somehow convert me into a coral/orange lover but I’m sad to say that it hasn’t.
The texture of the lip balm is amazing. I would say this as a constant quality for almost all of the Nivea lip balms. It is not sticky, thick or overly slippery. There is something about it that just sits perfectly right on the lips and keeps them hydrated while it fades away. The worst, however, is the pigmentation. When I swatches it on my hand, I was awfully pleased with the colour that I saw. But once I applied it on my lips, I could see almost no colour. Just a bit of a glossy finish and that’s it. Truth be told, that was the end of my coral coloured and peach flavoured dream. I have tried layering it up till my lips look like have chewed some of it but I can see almost no colour! The scent of it though is so good and so peachy that I was almost tempted to take a bite of it.
Packaging wise these lip balms are a winner. They come in different colored caps which represent the shade so you have no problems recognising them if you are a hoarder like me. It is sturdy to survive some bashing up and swivel mechanism in it works smoothly. Also, you get a ton product in one little tube which will take you quite a bit of time to finish up.
The lasting is average i.e. 3 to 4 hours without any snack in between. My lips aren’t left dry after the product fades away. I do feel that there is some moisture still left on my lips which saves me from reapplication and is a big plus point for me.

Cons of Nivea Fruity Shine Lip Balm Peach:

Conclusion: This lip balm could have been a high scorer only if it would have showed up on the lips as well as it did on the back of my hand. I wouldn’t suggest you to consider this one if you are going to try something from this range.
