Michiyo Audacious Lipstick by NARS Review and Where to Buy in India
By Contributor: Aditi
These are the best lipsticks ever created, okay review over. Okay no, but yes this is my one line feedback of the NARS audacious lipstick, hands down the best lipstick I have come across, I am sorry MAC but maybe the rarely available NARS seems to have conquered your spot now. It launched the Audacious range in a lot of shades and I picked Michiyo which I will review and swatch today.
NARS Claims: As a moment to mark ,their 20 years of being top – notch in the industry NARS launched their range of well refined, godly sculpted audacious lipstick range in whopping 40 shades, for everyone to find their picks, named after legendary Hollywood gems and at a shooting price of $32, from pinks to oranges to corals to plums to berry to purple to brown to red and oxblood and nudes, you name it and you have it, a colour for every mood and face of yours, offering the classy most tuxedo feel packaging as possible, this time they got everything under audacity
Dramatic Depth. Unstoppable Character. Modern lipstick so shamelessly seductive in touch and texture the sensation is audacious. Unadulterated luxury glides on like satin across skin with single-stroke coverage. A spectrum of 40 shades for unstoppable impact. One-stroke, full-coverage creamy wear. Luxurious texture and enriched with ingredients to smooth and nourish lips. Long-lasting
My Review:
NARS MICHIYO is described as a shocking pink by NARS, to me it seems like a more brightened fuchsia pink, somewhat a brighter version of girl about town from MAC with cool undertones.
Pigmentation: Goes absolutely opaque, like more opaque that the amplified finish from mac, you touch it just a bit and it packs on the pigment.
Texture: To me the texture or feel of the lipstick is like a cross between the creemsheen and matte finish from mac, it is super super creamy, but not melting sort of creamy like YSL, but still the look feels more like matte despite being utterly butterly creamy it doesn’t exhibit shine which is my favourite part.
Packaging: okay, lets take a minute here. Imagine your Mr.man or who ever your male crush fantasy is, in a sleek black tuxedo pinned up collar and a bow, sleek gelled hair and a firm jawline with shiny polished black shoe, is what this lipstick tube is. I don’t know why my camera isn’t picking up the beauty of its packaging but it’s the most simple and sleek black metal packaging. Cuboid in shape to be precise in 3D and if you see the face it appears rectangular with finely sculpted edges. The word NARS is inscribed on the bottom half of the bullet and as well on the lipstick bullet itself.
It also has a magnetic closure so you can easily throw it in your bag and have no fear of the cap falling apart. The shape of the lipstick bullet is so apt and comfortable for application, not too thin not too broad.
The Audacious Lipstick formula is superb. The lipstick is creamy, moisturizing, and smooth. I found that Michiyo was very creamy, feathery creamy on application. The formula is very pleasant to wear. The pigmentation is incredibly opaque. And the pigmentation combined with the creamy formula means that NARS’ “one-stroke, full-coverage creamy wear” claim holds true.
The Audacious Lipstick colours aren’t much glossy. But what I noticed after a lot of intense attention that for the first 30 minutes or so the lipstick tends to transfer on cups or fingers, it seems as if it hasn’t settled fully but after wearing for an hour or so it seemed to be transfer resistant and more like a stain. All I want to say is whatever you do, one stroke is enough to take you through the day.
And this is how Michiyo looks on my fair to medium Indian skin
Pros of Nars Michiyo Audacious Lipstick:
- The love of my life, beautiful pink fuchsia colour.
- Very very very creamy in texture.
- Extremely pigmented, rather insanely pigmented.
- Wears for a good 4 to 5 hours with some snacking on the go.
- The lipstick would last for long as only a single swipe is enough.
- Beautiful and sturdy and secure and luxurious and spellbinding packaging.
- Doesn’t bleed at all
- Doesn’t settle into the lip lines or corners
- Even application, no pulling or tugging.
- Its my first NARS ever and has left a mark.
Cons of Nars Michiyo Audacious Lipstick:
- Availability is the biggest con
- Tends to transfer onto things around initially.
Price: $32 (Anyway we have to pay extra for getting it in India, I would recommend to buy this and other not so accessible brands from a facebook page SHOP AT TITI’S CORNER, by far she has the most reasonable price and shipping, and the order arrives within 15 days. I am not being paid to advertise or something, I just wanted to inform my beauties that if they lure for this nars lipstick where to shop from)
VNA Rating: 5/5
