Maybelline Pink Alert Lipstick POW 2 Review and Swatches

I am in a pink phase right now, buying every pink lipstick that catches my attention. And when Maybelline launched its new Color Sensational Pink Alert lipsticks, I had to get it. It was my moral obligation. The range has four beautiful and different pink shades- POW1, POW2, POW3 and POW4. Such colors are very difficult to find in the drugstore brands. Hail Maybelline for this launch! I will review and swatch the shade POW 2 today.
POW 1: a bright blue based bubblegum pink.
POW 2: a pretty hot pink shade.
POW 3: a slight neon Barbie pink color.
POW 4: a coral pink shade. It is an exact replica of Maybelline bold matte 1, only the textures differ.

Shade: POW 2 is a beautiful hot pink color which looks slightly neon. It is such a gorgeous shade that would compliment almost all the Indian skin tones specially fair to medium.

Texture and pigmentation: The texture of the lipstick is creamy and very moisturizing and it glides on like butter. It is very hydrating and there is absolutely no need for any lip balm. My lips do not feel dry at all throughout the day. It has a glossy sheen which fades away after 4-5 hours of application. See no need of lip gloss either, all in one budget option. The only thing which bothers me is the texture that is a bit sticky.
The lipstick scores well on its pigmentation part. Only 2 swipes are needed to get an opaque finish and to cover any lip pigmentation. Neither does it bleed nor does it settle into fine lines.
Staying power: The lipstick stayed on my lips for a good 7-8 hours with light snacking, fading slightly. Being creamy in texture, it transfers. It survives light meals and snacks but will not be able live through heavy meals. Don’t eat or drink and it will stay on for like forever. I’m guessing it sticks to the lips and stays on for a longer duration due to its slight sticky texture.
Packaging: The packaging is just so girly. The lipstick comes in a pretty pink lipstick case with a plastic wrap that screams PINK ALERT. I loved the wrap so much that I did not tear it off. There is a mirror on top of the lipstick which would ease the application while travelling. There is a color coded sticker along with the shade name for easy identification. The cap shuts tightly and hence it is travel friendly.

Do I recommend? Maybelline Pink Alert Lipstick POW 2 is a blue toned bright neon pink. Maybelline never fails to impress me with their quality products. Undoubtedly it is my favorite budget brand. Highly recommend!
