All of 2015, if one thing has maintained its status of being the trendiest thing, it has got to be the “Brow game”. Everybody be it celebs, beauty bloggers, beauty gurus, youtubers post pictures on social networking channels with captions such as “Brow game on fleek” but what is all of this? Well, brow game is basically filling up sparse areas in your brows or overdrawing your eyebrows, to give them a natural look of course, so that your eyebrows look perfect. Maybelline recently launched the Brow Shaper Fashion Brow pencil in two shades- brown and grey

. I picked up the grey one and here I will review and swatch it. Read on to know more about it.

While there are tons and tons of brow products available abroad, the concept of filling in the brows in our country is still in its infant stages. Thanks to Maybelline, we now have at least one good eye brow product in India, that too at an affordable price.

My Review of Maybelline Fashion Brow Pencil:

The Maybelline brow shaper basically comes in two colors in India- brow and grey. Since I already own a brown eye pencil that I mainly use for filling in my brows, I thought I’d try the grey one this time. The grey is not a full-on dark grey, instead it is a muted grey that looks very natural, so much so, after a couple minutes of applying the brow pencil, you cant even figure out yourself that you’ve filled in your eyebrows with a pencil because it gives such a natural look. I am glad that I ended up purchasing the fashion brow grey shade as it matches the color of my natural brows perfectly and doesn’t make my brows look unnatural at all.

The Maybelline Fashion Brow is a duo eyebrow pencil, with the actual twist-up grey brow pencil on one end and a shadow sponge on the other end. The pencil on one end is smooth in texture and has the perfect color payoff as per brow products standards

. When you apply the maybelline brow pencil at first, it does not give a dark grey color to your brows all at once. Instead, you have to build up the color as per your requirement, which I think is great.

You can easily control how much product you want on your brows and how much you want to fill in and in which areas. The cap on the other end of the eyebrow pencil has a bed of shadow in it and the sponge is lying over the shadow only so it attracts as much shadow as it can. So when you take out the sponge to fill in your eye brows, it automatically gives a muted brown shade and one can easily do about 4-5 swipes with the amount of product that comes out on the sponge.

Keeping in mind the quality of the fashion brow pencil duo, I think it is rather inexpensive. The eye brow pencil from maybelline lasts on me pretty much the whole time without smudging or budging. It is not however a water-proof brow filler. The texture of fashion brow duo is smooth and lightweight. It doesn’t feel as though you’re wearing anything on your eyebrows. It is not at all difficult to take off, one swipe of your favorite makeup remover and off it comes.

Pros of Maybelline Fashion Brow Duo Shaper Grey:

• Easily available online and in the markets & malls too.
• Good quality product.
• Smooth in texture
• Easy to use. Eye pencil on one end and sponge on another are great to fill in the sparse areas of the brows and give the eyebrows a fuller shape.
• Comes in two shades- brown and grey so you can choose the shade that matches best with your natural eyebrows.

Cons of Maybelline Fashion Brow Duo Shaper Grey:

• It might take a little getting used to at first. But once you get the hang of it, the Maybelline brow shaper can do wonders.
• It has a weird smell I feel.
• There should be at least two more shades available in this product.
• It is not waterproof.
• Using the same eyebrow sponge on a regular basis is not very hygienic.

Conclusion: If you’re just starting out with filling in your brows or what is these days popularly called the “brow game”, this eyebrow pencil is just perfection. It works pretty good, the quality is amazing, comes from a reputed makeup brand and the price is just a cherry on top. I recommend this eyebrow pencil to every one!
