Maybelline ColorShow Lipstick Midnight Pink: Review and Swatches

Review, Swatches and Price of Maybelline color show lipstick Midnight Pink

By Contributor: Debarati

Today I am here with a review and swatch of Maybelline color show lipstick in Midnight Pink. I don’t love only red lipsticks, pink lipsticks are also in my “to die for” list! I picked two lipsticks from the pink range of colorshow lipsticks. This one was somehow a love at first sight shade to me. So carry on reading to know more about it.

Maybelline Claims: Maybelline Color Show Lipstick is a fashionable intense lipstick, which comes in chic to vivid shades. Maybelline Color Show Lipstick is highly pigmented giving bold lips.

My Review:

Packaging- Maybelline color show comes in a black plastic packaging. The name and shade number of the lipsticks are written at the bottom of them. Each lipstick has a band in between the cap and the case indicating the color family of that lipstick. There are four color families in this range- red, brown, pink and violet. Midnight pink comes from the pink family and has a pink band. The cap is tight and doesn’t slip out and confirm it as a travel friendly lipstick.

Texture- All color show lipsticks come with a very soft and creamy texture and this shade is not different from them. It also has a nice smooth and creamy texture which glides easily on lips without any tugging or pulling. As it is a moisturizing lipstick it doesn’t dry out the lips excessively.

Color, smell & finish- Midnight pink is a perfect mix of pink and magenta. It is not hot pink as well as not dark magenta. It is a nice combination of both which would flatter every skin tone. This lipstick has a floral smell which is not over powering. It gives a semi glossy finish without settling down into the lip lines.

Pigmentation & staying power- Midnight Pink has a decent pigmentation and gives a good color pay off in single swipe. It can cover all lip pigmentation with two swipes, so girls with pigmented lips, this is a worth trying for you. It stays on my lips around 4 hours and can’t survive a meal. It fades from the inner edge and leaves a soft pink stain on lips. It is not transfer proof and can be easily transferred.

Pros of Maybelline color show lipstick Midnight Pink:

  • Very affordable
  • Quality is very good
  • Soft creamy texture
  • Not very drying on lips as it is a moisturizing lipstick
  • Lovely shade collection to choose from
  • Easily available everywhere in India
  • Packaging is travel friendly and the cap clicks at right position
  • This particular shade is a perfect mix of pink & magenta which suits almost all Indian skin tones.
  • Doesn’t contain shimmer in it.
  • Gives a semi glossy finish

Cons of Maybelline color show lipstick Midnight Pink:

  • Transfers
  • Doesn’t survive meals.

Otherwise it is a good lipstick at such a reasonable price tag.

Price: Rs.299

Rating: 4.25/5

Do I recommend? Yes. I definitely recommend this. Midnight Pink is a very flattering shade and also stays for a good amount of time. It is also not too drying on lips so dry lips girls should give it a try. I love using this.
