I think Maybelline derived the name from hand grenades. Grenades are small bombs (those oval green bombs you saw in Border and LOC) that you throw by your hands. So Maybelline went a step further and made lip grenades…..which you can throw on anybody you want to woo. No you don’t drop the lipgloss tube on him silly, you just wear 2 thick slurppy layers on your lips and start pouting shamelessly as if its your natural face shape “oooooh i woooont to oorder twoooooo cappuuuuuuchinuuuuuus plooooose

Gleaming Grenadine is the hot red from the range. Its a sheer carrot red with slight shimmer. Although the shimmer doesn’t translate on the lips. You gotta layer it twice to build up the pigmentation of you like full on eyeballs grabbing red lip. I just apply one coat and that’s more than enough for me during the day!

Maybelline Color sensational lipgloss quality: The texture is thicker and heavy but that means it lasts longer. I can go with it for 2-3hrs with light meals. Your lips give that liquid like shine when you wear it, not the gloopy glue like shine (if you know what I mean!) and gives that plumped up lips effect. After the shine wears off, you are still left with slightly red stained lips which is a bonus. The pigmentation depends on the shade, this one is semi-opaque. Its a bit sticky due to its thick texture.

The wand of the lipgloss comes with a slant tip and not the regular doe tip applicator. While doe foots make it easier to apply lipglosses, its not really difficult to use the slant tip either. I’m comfortable either ways. And the packaging, initially I was kinda in two minds about the square bulky packaging but now I like it! The lip gloss gives a kind of luxurious feel to my dresser!
