Maybelline Color Sensational Bold Matte Lipstick Mat3

I’m this crazy red haired girl in my college. When the lecturer gives a 5min break I run 2 floors down quickly to click photos for my next blog post. When the clock says 12:30 and everyone eats their aaloo ka parantha while sipping some Tang, I run out quickly to check if the sun is right to click the next set of lipstick photos for blog. The juniors probably think I’m crazy. Today I could hear a bunch of girls saying “Whaaaat is she doinggg???” when I was clicking the new Maybelline lipstick at that perfect angle against the sunlight. Infact these days I carry my camera so much that I can easily pass off as a BJMC student! The lipstick that has got me such “acclaim” is the new Bold Matte Lipstick range from      Maybelline. This range is just launched recently. There are 5 shades in the range from MAT1 to MAT5. I’m reviewing MAT3.

looks bright neon orange in the tube but translates to a happy summer orange on the lips. Its not in-your-face but a very wearable orange which you can during the day too. I’m wearing this one everday and it has got me some raised eyebrows from the yin and admiring OMGs from the yang. The lipstick goes opaque in 2-3 swipes and cover my lip pigmentation.

The name says its a matte lipstick but the formula leans towards semi-matte. The texture is super moisturising and you can totally skip your lip balm with it. The lasting power is quite good considering how moisturing it is. It stays on me for some 3-4hrs and fades away leaving a strong tint behind which stays till the time you remove it yourself. The swatch on my hand it still there after 2 showers! It goes on easily on my lips but I would still recommend slightly exfoliated lips because it can settle in your lip lines.

The matte coral case has got a small mirror on top! Apart from that the packaging is similar to the old and loved Maybelline Color Sensational Lipsticks.

 And this is me wearing the lipstick. And yes that’s my tired-and-worked-so-hard-in-college face! I wore a blue liner in the morning but it has completely worn off.

Internationally these lipsticks come with a name. So just to avoid any confusion I’m listing down the shade names in India with their respective names abroad:

MAT1 – Hot Pink, MAT2 – Sugar Pink, MAT3 – Cheeky Coral, MAT4 – Vivid Coral, MAT5 – Bold Red. The other day I went to the store to get MAT2 but it hasn’t reached the counters yet. I guess it will be slowly reaching the Maybelline counters by next week. I so want to pick up MAT2..its a beautiful pink coral shade. Apart from that I’m waiting for the Maybelline Neo Nude Lipsticks to be launched in India.

So is it for you? Maybelline Color Sensational Bold Matte Lipstick Mat3 is a happy orange which is not neon and can be worn daily. The formula is amazing for a matte lipstick, it is moisturising and non-drying so you don’t need a lip balm with it. It stays on my lips for 3-4hrs and leaves behind a tangy tint which stays all day.
