Due to the alarming price hike of MAC lipsticks, I, a self-confessed MAC-oholic had almost given up on it! I had all the varieties of lipsticks I wanted, I had stocked up on my foundations and concealers and had not bought anything MAC for the last 4 + months. But I had to accept defeat when I saw the hawwttt new viva glam miley cyrus collection hot pink shade and amazingly, it came quickly to india also and even though I thought it would be OOS for sure at the MAC store, they had fresh new stocks just brought in when I pranced in! So it was like everybody wanted that I own it. So yo, welcome home, Miley! Let’s start with the review and swatches.

MAC Claims: Wham! Bam! VIVA GLAM! Superstar Miley Cyrus is ready to make noise as this iconic campaign’s 2015 spokesperson. The global pop phenomenon kicks off her VIVA GLAM with two surefire hits: a super-sexy hot pink Lipstick and matching Lipglass with sparkling pearl shimmer. Every cent of the selling price goes toward helping women, men and children living with and affected by HIV/AIDS. MAC Viva Glam Miley Cyrus Lipstick is described as a “hot pink” in an Amplified finish.

My Review:

This viva glam collection lipstick too, comes in the typical range packaging with a matte metallic red inner tube and a black outer packaging with a tight flip-cap. Easy to carry around.

The miley cyrus lipstick finish is the very popular amplified finish, famous for both its creaminess and opaque color pay-off and it is indeed rich and creamy, easy to apply and glides on evenly even on dry lips without emphasizing the fine lines/flaws.

The Miley Cyrus shade is a gorgeous bright very vibrant fuchsia pink with cooler undertones which makes almost every skin tone pop and can glam up any look day/night in a moment. It is certainly not an unusual shade and is quite close to a few hugely popular shades from MAC but in spite of all that, Viva Glam Miley has her own charm. The pigmentation is superb of course and just a couple of swipes are enough for bright opaque color. It is buildable as well, getting darker a bit neon-ish if you layer it on without looking cakey.

The staying power of viva glam lipstick is amazing and easily lasts 6 hours and beyond, after which it leaves behind a very bright pink stain! It does not dry out my lips though.

MAC Miley Cyrus and MAC Impassioned Comparison:

Impassioned was one of my very first MAC purchases and it has been my go-to hot pink forever, so I wanted to compare it with the new viva glam miley as it looked pretty similar to me in the beginning!

It turns out that while they might look similar to an extent, impassioned is a hot pink with a warmer, orangey undertone while viva glam miley has cooler undertones which suits me more IMO. However, both are super gorgeous! Down- viva glam miley, Top- impassioned

How it looks on my lips

The pros of MAC Viva Glam Miley Cyrus Lipstick:

• Black and metallic red tube packaging with miley’s signature
• Super creamy and rich texture- applies very easily and evenly on lips- does not accentuate fine lines/flaws
• Gorgeous super vibrant fuchsia-pink shade- glams up any look and suits almost all complexions
• Awesome pigmentation. Only a couple of swipes required
• Stays on and on for 6 hours and more
• Does not dry out lips
• Yummy vanilla fragrance

The cons of MAC Viva Glam Miley Cyrus Lipstick:

• Ever escalating MAC prices

Do I recommend? It is a very easily dupable gorgeous fuchsia pink no doubt, but the texture, pigmentation, the AIDS fund cause and the surrounding hype makes it a must buy if you have a soft point for MAC! Go get it girls!
