I have recently started taking an interest in charity..surprised?! Err..I think you all are well aware MAC runs an AIDS awareness fund and has its entire Viva Glam range comprising  of lipsticks and lipglasses the entire price of which goes to the fund when we buy. Isn’t that really awesome on MAC’s part? (yupp that was what I meant by charity) so after I got mac viva glam nicki I decided I had to pick up atleast 1 more from this range. Presenting Viva Glam the original

today, no. 1 for my review and swatches.

MAC Claims: MAC describes Viva Glam 1 as an intense brownish blue-red in a matte finish.

The color is probably the sexiest red after my patent Russian Red (in answer to your inquiries, no I do not heart Ruby Woo. Its far too overhyped) the color is a rich dark sexy red, with a hint of maroon thrown in which screams classy and sexy. In total love!

The pigmentation is mindblowing and a light swipe is enough to get an intense rich color payoff.

The texture is MAC’s famous matte finish and though it sounds drying it isn’t really. It applies easily and quite evenly on normally hydrated lips (ladies with very dry lips do use a balm!) matte finishes do have a slight tendency to emphasize dry patches/fine lines on lips and this one does tend to do the same. However, being such a rich color those minor flaws do not come to notice IMO!

It stays on forever too and does need a balm underneath to ward off the slightly drying effect! Matte finish + rich color = infinity Though it starts fading slightly from the edges after around 6 hours, you need to remove it properly to get rid of it.

The MAC Viva Glam lipsticks are all packaged a tad differently with a classy matte finish metallic red tube inside and the regular black body and cap outside. I find the packaging a bit hatke and very sexy!

The pros of MAC Viva Glam 1:

• Sexy metallic red black packaging of the Viva Glam range!
• Soft, matte finish- applies evenly and easily
• Rich, dark sexy red, my absolute favorite from MAC after Russian Red
• Awesome pigmentation and results in intense opaque color payoff in a single swipe
• Stays on for ever and ever until properly removed
• Yummy vanilla fragrance!

The cons of MAC Viva Glam 1:

• Slightly drying over time and needs a balm underneath!

Do I recommend? MAC Viva Glam 1 The Original Lipstick is great. I have tried 6-7 of MAC reds and probably this one has made me feel the sexiest yet classiest ever without being too OTT or vampy. The perfect mix of dark red and a hint of brown it will suit beautifully almost everyone and rock a wide range of sin tones so fear not to try it out. That’s it on this lovely MAC red ladies.
