Review, Swatches, Dupes, Price of MAC Verve Satin Lipstick
Ever since I started wearing make-up, brown has always been a staple lipstick in my vanity and to be honest, I was someone who would fret away from experimenting with colors; merely for the reason that I thought they wouldn’t suit me! So, when I went shopping for a lipstick, a brown with red undertones caught my eye and I couldn’t resist buying it! I’m talking about the MAC satin finish lipstick in the shade VERVE! This is my first MAC lipstick ever and I cannot stress enough on how amazing it is and my happiness just doubled up because I got a chance to review it here on VNA! I’ve been wearing it for quite some time now and it makes my lips look AH-MAZIINNGGG. Let’s get on to the review and swatches of this mac lipstick and see why it deserves all the accolades.
My Review of the MAC Verve Lipstick:
Packaging- the lipstick comes in the usual bullet shaped MAC packaging in black with silver detail and the name of the brand written over it. It is very durable and you can rest assured that it will not break even if it slips out of your hand. The name of the shade is written at the bottom, like all the other mac lipsticks!
Color- MAC describes the lipsticks as a brownish plum, however, I feel it is a brown with red undertones and looks amazingly sexy on medium to dusky Indian skin tones. If you like MAC Viva Glam III , then you will surely love this shade Verve, because it is just the same shade with a satin finish, while Viva Glam III is a matte. The Verve shade will suit every Indian skin tone. So that’s a big YAAY!
Pigmentation- The lipstick has a strong pigmentation, which means it is full coverage. I have a fairly pigmented upper lip and it manages to cover it well. The best part about the mac lipstick shade verve is that it is build-able, and does not look exaggerated even after a few swipes. However, one swipe is usually all you need.
Opacity- If you ask me, I love anything that has a good fragrance. The lipstick has a VANILLA fragrance to it, which I think is a hallmark for every MAC lipstick. I LOVE IT and that scores a BROWNIE POINT! Even if you are not really a fragrance lover, it will not bother your schnozzles. It smells really good, makes me want to eat it up!
Finish- I absolutely love the texture of this mac lipstick, I wore it without prepping my lips with a lip balm and it definitely kept my lips moisturized, without being very creamy. Its a satin finish lipstick and glides on really smooth and makes the pout appear healthier. It does not cause any flaking of lips nor does it settle into fine lines! Love the satiny-creamy finish!
Wearability- The verve lipstick has a super long staying power which makes it even amazing. It fades a teeny tiny bit after you have eaten something, but nothing too drastic. I have worn verve for 6-7 hours and I really did not feel the need for touch-ups. I usually eat my lipstick up, but this satin shade managed to stay. The staying power can differ according to your lipstick eating capacity!

Cons of MAC Verve Satin Lipstick:
- I can’t really think of any cons! But if there has to one, I’d say the PRICE! MAC lipsticks are not really budget-friendly.
Price in India: Rs.1450 (The lipstick retailed at INR 950 for 3gms but the price has now hiked up to INR 1450)

Would I recommend it? A BIG YES! I’m sure you’ll be obsessed with it, as much as I am! There’s nothing better than finding the perfect lip color, a shade that flatters your skin tone to the T and lasts on your lips for a good amount of time, don’t you think so too?
Conclusion: MAC Verve lipstick is a beautiful brick brown color, which flatters every skin tone! It looks incredible on the lips, and the texture is superb too! Even though, it is not a budget-friendly lipstick, you would not regret laying your hands on it!
