Mac Rebel Lipstick Review and Swatch

Ever since I saw Kareena Kapoor in the Talaash Song “Muskaanein Jhooti Hai”, I was on a hunt for that particular Lipstick. I have thoroughly researched a lot for this berry shade, watched videos on YouTube , read reviews on Blogs. Phew! Anshita also suggested that its MAC Rebel that Kareena is wearing

 so I had to get it. So today’s review is on this beautiful Mac lipstick from the permanent range.

Mac describes the shade as Mid Tone Plum. The color I feel is a deep plum shade with berry tones with a subtle shine in it. In the    tube it looks darker and resembles some kind of vampy shade but on lips it looks so beautiful and sexy. A single swipe is enough to cover any pigmentation on lips. The lipstick comes in a satin finish which is slightly on a sheer side.

The texture is creamy and smooth and that helps to build the intensity of the shade. MAC Lipsticks are highly pigmented and the staying power is amazing. On my lips it stays put for 6-7 hrs with meals and tons of gossips. The lipstick is from the the permanent range so a typical black bullet with signature Vanilla Fragrance.

Only drawbacks which I feel are that it fades unevenly and looks quite awful. Its quite a difficult task to remove this lipstick as it leaves behind a strong stain. So I suggest that you use baby oil to remove it.

The Good th ings:

• A cult favorite shade
• Looks almost similar to the shade which Kareena Kapoor wore in movie Talaash
• Madly pigmented shade.
• Signature Vanilla Fragrance.
• Amazing staying power.
• Satin Finish which glides on lips very easily.

The Bad things:

• Fades unevenly.
• Removing part is difficult.

Recommendation: Mac Rebel is a deep berry plum lipstick which would suit a lot of Indian skin tones. The texture, pigmentation and staying power is absolutely good. It’s a lip color that can turn you into a diva within minutes!
