Review, Swatches, Price of MAC Prep + Prime Skin Refined Zone Treatment Soin
This is my first post to VNA and I am excited about it. I’ve been thinking of buying a primer for so long because I heard a lot about how its so important. I considered many brands but ended up with MAC as it is a very trusted brand (I am really crazy about Mac products) and so I thought of trying out the MAC Prep + Prime Skin Refined Zone Treatment Soin. It is a new and a very good addition to my makeup kit. I am glad that I bought it. Lets start with the review and swatches of the MAC primer.
I’ve never used a primer before so I was really excited to use it for the first time. A primer basically provides a base for your makeup and hence it makes your makeup last long. Since I don’t have super oily skin nor do I have redness or big pores so it kinda worked really well on my skin. Primer creates a big difference in your makeup and I got to know this with my first application.
MAC Claims: A light oil-free emulsion that helps conceal visible pores while controlling oil. Applies wet for a gentle micro exfoliation; dries instantly to create an invisible, long lasting natural matte finish. Ideal for T-ZONE.
Reduces appearance of pores
Controls Oil and makes your skin smooth
Helps in Mattifying skin
My Review of MAC Prep + Prime Skin Refined Zone Treatment Soin:
It comes in a simple black tube with a nozzle to t ake out the required amount. Packaging is quite simple (MAC as usual goes for black and white packaging), not that attractive but light-weight and perfect for travel purposes. It comes in different shades & I am using the shade 04 (for making your skin lustrous).
I apply mac prep + prime under my foundation and it provides a perfect base for it. The face primer makes my skin super smooth and soft and gives a glow to my face after sometime. I have small pores which get diminished after applying it (it was fwow or me!) but I am not sure whether it will work on those who have large pores.
A small quantity is enough for single application and last for a longtime (Even when applied alone). I don’t have acne prone skin so I don’t know how well it will work on oily skin but it did not break out on my skin as per its claim which is a good thing. The consistency is neither too thick nor too light. Coverage is good. Not at all sticky.
If you don’t wear makeup or you are not planning to wear makeup then you can just apply this mac primer, it will give a subtle glow to your skin and will make it look smooth. Previously when I used to apply makeup without using a base, then my makeup would mostly last for 3 to 4 hours but now after applying this as a base before makeup I can happily say my makeup stays for at least 6-7 hours. Yaay!
What are the good points of MAC Prep + Prime Skin Refined Zone Treatment Soin:
- Evens out skin tone
- Extends foundation wear (Long Lasting as I said before)
- Best for combination/oily skin
- Doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin
- Super light texture
- Small quantity sufficient for single application
- Keeps my skin completely matte for hours
What are the bad points of MAC Prep + Prime Skin Refined Zone Treatment Soin:
- Becomes patchy sometimes
- Doesn’t blend well with some foundations (You can use Match Master SPF15 foundation and concealer).
- Can’t say how it will work for super oily & acne-prone skin.
- This shade will not reduce the redness on your skin (so for redness you will have to go for some other shade).
Price in India: Rs.1551 for 45ml
VNA Rating: 4/5
Will I buy this product again? It’s a definite yes, yes and yes for me since I didn’t face any problem with it. It acts like a miracle for me and my face which keeps my makeup fresh for a much longer time. I will recommend you all to give it a shot. It’s a must have base product in your makeup kit.
Conclusion: I am in love with this product because whenever I don’t feel like doing too much of makeup for running errands then I go for this prep+prime skin refined zone treatment soin alone as it gives a natural glow on my face which makes my face look naturally beautiful and glowy.
