MAC Peachykeen Sheertone Shimmer Blush
By Contributor: Tejinder Kaur
I am very excited to share my review and swatches on one of the raved, best seller product in MAC powder blush category- Peachy keen. This is my first Mac blush after having bought various other products from MAC including lipsticks, studio fix fluid and powder foundation and Fix+. This was part of the Mac haul post I did last week, time now for a detailed review. Although this blush has fine golden shimmer but that just adds brownie points to it since you don’t need any extra highlighter for the glow. It works really well with my Indian outfits.
Mac Clams: Colour makeup for cheeks & face. Sheer glossy micro-refined powder glides on skin smoothly &lasts long.Adds glamour & brightness to your face.Dermatologist tested.
MAC describes Peachykeen as a baby peach. It is a very beautiful mixture of peachy pink shade with fine golden shimmer which highlights the cheekbones and gives subtle pink gold glow to your cheeks. It is a shimmery blush but looks so natural that can be worn day or night time. One swipe is enough to build up the colour and givesa subtle highlighter+ pink blush look. For a bright colour which will look better in the evening or night parties, you need a couple of swipes. This blush would suit medium to fair skin tones.
It is buildable and blends effortlessly. On light hand this comes up as a beautiful sheer natural blush but you can build up the colour by adding more swirls on blush brush. Shimmer will not look prominent on the face if you blend properly with a blush brush. I used my Real Techniques brush for this.
Packaging is simple and cute. It comes in a black round plastic box with transparent lid. Product information including the shade name is mentioned on the back side of the box. The packaging is very sturdy, so can easily be carried while travelling. It’s a big sized box so might not fit in your small purse, but can carry in medium size bag.
Staying Power: I have normal skin so it stays more than 7-8 hours on my skin. It would stay at least 5 hours on oily skin girls as well. It leaves a pretty tint and glow on your cheeks which does not look uneven or leave shimmer after fading.
Pigmentation is very intense as one swipe gives good colour pay-off. But if you wants a bit deeper shade you can swipe two or three times to build up.
Texture: The texture is very soft and smooth and velvety. I found the texture creamy and without any fall out while applying. As it is shimmery so a light hand is recommended when applying in day time. Sheer tone blushers are easy to work with, and can be built up according to the colour you desire. I swirled the brush into the blush, and didn’t notice any extra powder sticking to the pan. The brush picks up the right amount of the blush.
