MAC Impassioned Lipstick Review, Swatch and Dupe

MAC has got some cult favourite lipstick shades which are famous worldwide. Kolkata where I live has only one store and most of the time these shades remain out of stock. I had to bring this lipstick from Mumbai..All thanks to hubby! Pink lipstick lovers must have this shade in your stash. This is such a bright shade

, infact its a pretty fuchsia. Today I’m reviewing and swatching Mac Impassioned which is such a happy bright pink. I will also show how it looks on my medium Indian skin tone. This has been such a raved lipstick (apart from Girl About Town and Chatterbox) among the beauty bloggers that its a crime not to have it. Every girl should have Impassioned to get through all the boring days.

 

MAC describes Impassioned as Amped Up Fuschia. Okay the shade looks different in different lights. Like you will see in my pics, I have taken them in little gloomy weather; the color came out to be more cool toned pink. In a bright sunny day it comes more coral pink on me. But mostly its a bright fuchsia pink which would work on a wide variety of skin tones.

The pigmentation is good though I have quite pigmented lips so I need couple of swipes to bring the opaqueness of the shade. The color is very much buildable. Dry lips beauties should always exfoliate lips so that there should be no traces of dry flaky bits because this does accentuate flakiness and settles on it which looks very odd.

The finish is Amplified which means it is creamy matte. The formula is very moisturizing and hydrating too, Lips looks glossy and leaves beautiful sheen.

The staying power of this lipstick is 4-5 hours on me. Amplified finish doesn’t stay for long on me due to the creamy texture. It fades from the center of my lips so re-application is much required.

The Good things about MAC Impassioned Lipstick:

• Bright almost neon pink shade.
• Looks different at times.
• Creamy matte finish
• Pigmentation is good
• Staying power is decent enough
• Suits a lot of Indian skin tones

The Bad things about MAC Impassioned Lipstick:

• Due to the creamy texture, it does accentuate flaky bits and settles in it.
• Dry lips beauties need to apply a lip balm underneath

Do I Recommend: MAC Impassioned Lipstick is a bright fuchsia pink lipstick which is a cult favourite among the beauty bloggers. If you like bright neon shade, then you must get this as your stash is incomplete without this pink lipstick. Once again this is a must have lipstick for Pink and MAC lovers. Amplified finish is quite good for dry lips beauties. So I recommend this to everyone.
