There was a time when I couldn’t even think of buying a MAC lipstick for Rs.990 and see me now buying the mineralize rich lipsticks for Rs.1650! Ouch! MAC is now my go to brand for everything as MAC  always keeps on launching new collections and products which are worth every penny. The expiry of MAC glamour era lipstick is 2016, so I guess I’ve pretty long time to use it to my heart’s content. Today’s review and swatches are of the new Mac Glamour Era Mineralize Rich Lipstick from the Tropical Taboo Collection.

Mac Glamour Era is described as a mid-tone, warm brown frost. The color is so intense that I apply the lipstick without a lip liner. Being so creamy in texture I am really impressed by the coverage it gives to my pig mented lips. The one thing that pinches me is the width of the lipstick bullet. I found a little difficulty when applying it to my thin lips but I guess that is my lip problem not the lipstick’s.

The first time I saw it in the store I didn’t find it extraordinary or special but on my next visit to the store I again stopped by to have a look at the Tropical Taboo range as I was looking for something warm brown. I was dam confident that I will not buy the lipstick as it is not matte and I am not a lover of creamy lipsticks

but Anindita, my friend convinced me to try it and I was bowled over by the lightweight and moisture formula that gives full coverage with a feel of applying just lip balm on your lips. It stays for 5-6 hours, survives small meals leaving a lovely tint on lips.

I am a lover of that black sturdy bullet case with MAC printed in silver on the case but the newly launched mineralize range comes in a different packaging with is also very attractive and who doesn’t love new things? The broad, black, sturdy tube has a magnetic closure I guess that help to keep the cap very secure and the bullet is large than the normal. I have a little problem with the shape of the lipstick as it is a little broad for my lips otherwise the lipstick case is really classy.

I know many of you must be disappointed by the price hike of this range, even I almost fainted after hearing about the price which is much higher than the permanent range of lipsticks from MAC and took almost 15 mins to decide whether to buy it or to give a miss. In fact the MUA felt pity and asked me to give it a miss but I still bought it! Women will be always women!

The lipstick contains near about 77 minerals (now stop giving me that look, yes I admit I count the ingredients labeled on the lipstick and I found near about 77 minerals in it…okay ,okay I generally never read the ingredients listed unless I am reviewing that lipstick..Phew!)

Why I am a happy bunny with Mac Glamour Era from Mineralize Rich Lipsticks range:

• A pretty everyday warm brown shade
• The packaging is new and classy.
• The lipstick is lightweight and moisturizing.
• Gives opaque coverage in 1-2 swipes.
• Can be applying without lip liner as it gives a feeling of lip balm.
• Stays for 5-6 hours.
• Survive large meals leaving a lovely tint on lips.

Why I am a sad bunny with Mac Glamour Era from Mineralize Rich Lipsticks range

• Expensive.
• Broad size may be difficult to apply on thin lips.

My final thoughts: Mac Glamour Era Mineralize Rich Lipstick is a soft brown shade that would suit medium to darker Indian skin tones beautifully. Its creamy and lightweight and stays for 5-6 hours easily. I highly recommend this lipstick range. I’m a matte lipstick lover so I will try to stick to just one lipstick from the mineralize range.
