MAC Gently Off Eye and Lip Makeup Remover Review and How to Use it

You wake up in the morning and smell the coffee. You get fresh and plan your outfit. Then comes the most exciting part – MAKEUP! You go through the day checking yourself out in the mirror every chance you get to ensure nothing is out of place. Eventually the pressure of work takes over. You get home and you see yourself in the mirror and stop short of screaming out of fear. On such days I wish my makeup would magically disappear at the end of the day. So after trying a whole bunch of affordable but disappointing makeup removers I gave up and went to MAC. I was shopping for my bridal trousseau and thought I finally deserve some MAC products. My review is on MAC Gently Off Eye and Lip Makeup Remover along with a short demo.

My Review:
Keeping aside the cost, this is the best eye makeup remover I’ve used. Most of the products tend to sting my eye and being a contact lens wearer, I have to be extra careful of what I use. MAC Gently Off does not sting one bit. It removes every trace of eye and lip makeup no matter how longwearing it is!
How to use MAC Gently Off Eye and Lip Makeup Remover?
Now I took time to develop my technique to use it. At first, I vigorously rubbed the cotton ball on my lashes to get the mascara out. Needless to say, I ended up with panda eyes. With time, I realized that the product does everything for you. All you need to do is soak a cotton pad and place it on your eye for about 15-20 seconds (in case you are wearing heavy makeup) and then gently swipe downwards. It pulls off everything from liner to mascara. You may have to go back another time to get more product in case you feel there’s still a little makeup left on your eye.
Even though it gives you the option of not rinsing, I still go ahead and cleanse my face before starting my night time skin routine. Given that I have oily skin, the slight greasy feeling this remover leaves behind isn’t something I like. But it is not something a wet wipe cannot take care of. I have acne-prone skin and this did not break me out at all even when I used it on my face.
Packaging: The packaging is a sturdy and leak proof bottle. The liquid needs to be shaken vigorously before use and the bottle dispenses the product quite easily onto a cotton ball or pad.

Conclusion: MAC Gently Off Eye and Lip Makeup Remover is great. I would definitely repurchase this unless I find something equally good and within budget. I believe in using good quality makeup products since I wear makeup every day. I’m quite happy with this makeup remover and do recommend it.
