MAC Candy Yum Yum Lipstick (Matte) Review, Swatches, Photos, Dupes and FOTD

There are lot of lipsticks by MAC Cosmetics which are highly requested and loved by Makeup addicts around the world. Some of them got discontinued and came back again because of the demand and love from Macup addicted girls. Yes! I am talking about MAC Candy Yum Yum which was once supposed to be discontinued, came back after tons of love votes. MAC once asked their customers to vote for the bestselling lipstick, and this baby won by loads of votes. I have got a long list of MAC products which are famous and yet to come in my stash and this was amongst them. Finally I grabbed it! Again a last piece, I always have a connection with grabbing the last piece! I have forgotten the count of times I have asked the MAC manager in my city too keep Candy Yum Yum for me! Okay enough of the story now let’s check the review and swatches.
My Review:
MAC describes it as Bright Pink shade. I second by MAC description about the color, this is the brightest shade of pink I have in my stash and wore on my lips. The color in my words is Neon Pink with blue tones. I must say that this shade is not for faint hearted or shy people. This is a complete attention seeking shade. I love bold and unique Shades like this, however I was bit scared to come out in public wearing this. But yes I did and it was well accepted by others too. *Happy Dance* My mother hate this shade like anything LOL! Who cares! But I will make her wear this soon. Buuaaahhhaa!! *evil grin*
This has a matte finish, your lips should be in a really good condition otherwise it can make things ugly! This is a difficult shade, as it can show any improperness of your lips like dry bits, flakiness or fines lines. Yess it does settle into fine lines, but doesn’t make them look prominent. Makes sure your lips are well exfoliated and moisturized. It is creamy when applied directly from bullet and after a few minutes it settles into a matte finish. It does not pull or tug on the lips. Its a quite hydrating matte lipstick. Due to the matte finish, a single swipe gets you opaque coverage on your lips as its a very pigmented color.
I would suggest you to apply a clear lip balm first then line your lips with a nude shade of lip liner and use a lip brush while applying, as that way you can control the intensity.
About the staying power, Mac MATTE Lipsticks need no introduction. It stays for around 6-7 hours on my lips, survives full punjabi meals and Lassi!
One of the biggest problem of this shade is that it stains like anything, though I face similar issues in most of deep shades in MAC. And yes this needs a good oil based makeup remover for removing.

- Though in Permanent Line, still faces availability issues.

VNA Rating: 3.5/5 (as it settles in fine lines and can look odd on dry lips)

My Recommendation: MAC Candy Yum Yum Lipstick needs lot of courage and confidence to pull off in public otherwise it can really make you an ugly duckling. If you are into bold and neon shades then this is a must have for you. Personally I have no issue with such daring shades. Its one of the cleanest blue toned bright pink and highest voted lipsticks by MAC. It can work on medium to dark Indian skin tones if you have the confidence. And yes keep the rest of the makeup simple!
