Monsoons have started and its getting colder here in Bangalore. Hope you are all enjoying the rains with some hot tea and snacks! Today’s review is another Lotus Herbals product from the newly launched YouthRx Anti Ageing range called the Lotus Herbals YouthRx Anti-Aging Transforming Creme. I have combination skin which gets very oily in summers and very dry in winters. Yeah, both the seasons are equally agonizing for us combination skin people. It is always either one of the extremes – very oily or very dry. Now with the onset of monsoon and chilly climates, my skin has started becoming very dry, dull and dehydrated.
It was time to change my skin care routine to more moisturizing, hydrating products. I have mostly used day creams, night creams and serums from Lotus Herbals and they have worked well for me. I think they are very apt for combination, sensitive skin like mine. I use their Whiteglow range in summers and their Nutramoist/Nutranite range in winters. I was thinking of picking up the Nutramoist day cream again this time, but then I decided to try the new YouthRx range. Read on to know whether the product works well to its claims.
Lotus Herbals claims: YouthRx Anti-Ageing Transforming Crème is a testament of ground breaking development in ‘green science’. It contains revolutionary ‘Gineplex Youth Compound’ derived from potent natural ingredients. All natural, safe and effective active ingredients. The Result: YouthRx Anti-Ageing Transforming Crème has been clinically tested on Indian skin & proven to give following results:
• Reduces fine lines, wrinkles, blemishes, spots in 7 days
• Makes sk in firmer, younger & glowing
Also available: Lotus YouthRx Active Anti-Ageing Foaming Gel, Lotus YouthRx Active Anti-Ageing Exfoliator, Lotus YouthRx Youth Activating Serum + Creme, Lotus YouthRx Anti-Ageing Transforming Creme, Lotus YouthRx Anti-Ageing Nourishing Night Creme
My Review of Lotus YouthRx Anti Ageing Cream:
Packaging: I love the color combination of the YouthRx range. The cream comes in a classy shiny, golden and purple colored outer carton box which has all the details printed on it. Inside the carton, there is a golden tub with a purple screw cap. The cap shuts tighly and there is no leakage. I carry the cream tub alone in my handbag as its compact without the outer carton. The only thing the bothers me in the packaging is that the complete list of ingredients is not mentioned anywhere. They have listed only the key active ingredients.
Texture and fragrance: It is a light pink colored cream with a nice floral fragrance. In the Lotus Herbals day creams that I have used, the Whiteglow range is very light and gel based. Lotus Nutramoist is little heavier and has a very fluffy, whipped texture. This cream, I find it to be more thicker than Nutramoist cream and has a kind of waxy texture.
I have been using this lotus herbals day cream for the past three weeks. I use it twice daily, in the morning and post-lunch when I wash my face in office. Just a little coin sized amount is enough for entire face and neck. I just make dots all over my face and blend it. It blends and gets absorbed easily and doesn’t leave any patches or whitish cast. After applying, I notice an instant brightening and glow in my face. It gives a nice dewy look which I love.
Coming to long term results, it fulfills most of its claims. I had been travelling and the long exposure to sun and lack of sleep clearly affected me. My skin was dull and dehydrated and there were numerous sun spots and brown spots. Plus, working in an AC office aggravates the dryness. It was at this time that I picked up this anti ageing cream. Just within 3 days of using it, I could notice the effects visibly. My skin had cleared up and the sun spots and brown spots were very much reduced. Some of my acne scars had also lightened. The first claim of reducing blemishes and spots in 7 days, which I was skeptical initially, but it is really true. With continous usage over three weeks, my face looked brighter, plumper and healthy with a soft glow. So, that verifies the second claim too. Coming to fine lines and wrinkles, I don’t have any wrinkles, but I had some fine lines on my forehead mainly due to dryness and I feel the cream has smoothed them out and they are almost unnoticeable now.
The only discomfort I faced was, after a week of using it, I started to get some whiteheads on my nose and under eye area. I used a scrub to clear them and since then I apply only a tiny dot on the nose and avoid the under eye area completely. I wish they also come up with a under eye cream in the same range.
Cons of Lotus Herbals YOUTHRx Anti Ageing Transforming Creme:
Price in India: Rs.120 for 10g and Rs.595 for 50g
VNA Rating: 4.8/5
Where to Buy Online in India: amazon.in
Overall: This is one of the best anti-aging creams for dry, aging skin. Oily, acne-prone skin people can skip it as it might be heavy for them. Combination skin people can try it in winters and cold climates, but it wouldn’t be suitable in hot, humid weathers. Dry skinned people should definitely give this a try as apart from anti-aging benefits, it is also all-natural and preservative-free.

i have oily skin definitely not getting it but definitely suggesting this to my sister!
Yeah, its not suitable for oily skin. Also, not for hot, humid weathers as it sweats a lot.
For my oily skin most of the products clog my pores and lead to whiteheads just like it happened to you. My mom used this and it was greasy for her skin. Definitely not for oily and combination skin!
Yes, its greasy compared to other Lotus Herbals ranges... I use their Whiteglow range which I feel is very light...
Great review Archana! This cream looks too heavy.. Can anyone suggest a good anti-ageing cream for oily aged skin?
Most of the anti-aging creams I have tried tend to be heavier and not at all for oily skin. Also, I feel most of them are actually not suitable for our hot, humid, Indian weather even for people over 30 or 40 who really need an anti-aging cream. Only bet is to try an anti-aging serum instead of a cream as they tend to be lighter...
It might be good fit for oily skin in winters ! Well reviewed Archana !
Thanks Shailja... Its better for oily, acne prone skin to avoid as it clogs pores and they might get whiteheads...
Oh this looks quite rich, definitely not suitable for oily skin.
Well reviewed :)
Thanks, Lisha... Yes, the cream is quite rich and not for oily skin...
seems good for dry skin! will get this for my mum.
I have oily skin so I need to stay away from this one! Thanks for the review :)

Its like you learn my mind! You seem to know so much approximately this, like you wrote
the ebook in it or something. I believe that you simply can do with some
percent to force the message house a bit, however other than that,
this is magnificent blog. An excellent read. I will definitely be back.
