LOTD: Chandigarh Tea Party and Bun

FOTD highlighted cheeks bright lips

So here I’ve let the punjabi inside me to unleash. I almost named the makeup look – Sardarni Hair Bun! Almost all the Parminders and Simrans sport this bun. And I really don’t know how to make it. I just don’t comb my hair for 2 days and…..get the hair bun! Sardarnis makeup it super cool by twisting their hair in knots without using a single hair pin. See I don’t know how to do it and nor is this post a tutorial on it. I secure mine with a clutch and basically sport it all summer.

But looking at these photos, I was reminded of high street tea parties with ladies in high buns (almost pointing towards the north pole) carrying their newest LV at that perfect angle (ouuch my arms hurt after just even thinking about it). Now move this high society party   to India in an elite and expensive restaurant in Chandigarh or Ludhiana and you have cracked the look of the day!

FOTD Indian Makeup Glow Highlighter

Sardarni girls have beautiful skin and hair. So throw in loads of highlighter, a coloured winged eye liner, bright pink lips, big hoops or jhumkas (like the ones I showed you in this street post) and you are ready to do gidda rock.

FOTD Bright Fuschia Pink Blue Eyes

Makeup Breakdown of the look:

Face: Lakme Invisible Finish Foundation, Lakme Absolute Night Sheer Blush

Eyes: Faces Moonlit Eyeliner, Lakme Eyeconic Kohl, Lakme Eyeconic Mascara, L’Oreal eyeshadow palette (the sunset one)

Lips: L’Oreal Pink Passion

See I told you in this lipstick review that I will show you how the bright pastel pink lipstick looks on me. Well here it is. This is the actual colour that turns up on my lips. I’m not wearing heavy eye makeup and it still works. And the Lakme Absolute Blush is so good. I’m not wearing any highlighter, its the blush imparting the glow. Btw the makeup here is very similar to my previous LOTD

. This time it without the accessories and I tied my hair up.

PS – Ignore my tanned arms. Sleeveless + sun can do this to you and no amount of sunscreen can control it!

  2. You carried bun with such ease. I look really weird with bun as I have very thick hair and the bun comes way too thick. Your post made me nostalgic as Ludhiana is my birthplace & hometown :)
