L’Oreal Paris Shine Caresse Stain in Bella Review and Swatches
By Contributor: Sharmistha
There has been a lot of hyped around these Shine Caresse lip stains by L’Oreal in the beauty blogs. These were launched in my city kolkata last month, and people are like crazily hoarding them. When I went to a store to pick a few of these, a girl next to me asked the SA to give her all the shades, I mean What! She wanted all of them without even checking! The SA and me were looking at each other.. lol! Anyhoo lets check out the review and swatches of the shade I picked Bella.

The shade Bella is a very pretty coral shade with pink tones, it has shimmer which is clearly visible on hand swatch but doesn’t transfer on lips. The color looks really pretty and that made me purchase this.
But the story gets totally different when I put it on my lips, the color doesn’t show up on my lips, it rather looks like a soft peach nude lip gloss. But as the time goes the color darkens on lips, and then a slight bit of color does shows up about 20-25 min after application. This color is going to be a hit with those who really fear even a slightest bit of color on lips. This is again a good shade for teenage and college going girls. It won’t suit dusky Indian skin tones. Its meant for only fair skin girls. Personally I didn’t like the color at all.
The texture of this gloss is runny almost like water; they are glossy and give good amount of hydration to the lips however as the color gets dark by the time it sort of feels dry on lips, and you need a balm to help get rid of the dryness.
Pigmentation of these glosses is quite low. I mean they are the sheerest glosses I have tried so far! The color looks very sheer on pigmented lips. On natural pink lips the color will come more vibrant.
The staying power of the stain is quite decent; it stays for 4-5 hours on my lips with drinks. After a full meal, the color starts fading from the center and stays only on edges, which looks quite ugly so better re-apply. Particularly this shade doesn’t leave behind any tint or stain on my lips however the other darker shades which I have tried leave a nice stain which looks good.
These stains comes in a metallic gold elongated tube, with a petal shaped applicator, the applicator has a hole in the center which helps to takes off the excess product. The gold packaging is an eye candy, looks totally luxurious sitting on the dresser. And the applicator is designed very logically.
The Good Things about L’oreal Paris Shine Caresse Stain Bella:
- Totally gorgeous metallic gold packaging
- Logically designed petal shaped applicator
- Bella is a soft coral pink color which will look good on fair skin tones.
- Texture is very light almost watery
- Decent staying power.
- Perfect shade for college girls
- Price is decent enough
The Bad Things about L’oreal Paris Shine Caresse Stain Bella:
- Poor pigmentation. The color doesn’t show up well on dark lips.
- Tends to get sticky as the time goes.
- The color doesn’t comes up the way it looks in the tube.
VNA Rating: 3/5
Do I Recommend? L’Oreal Shine Caresse Stain Bella is soft coral pink shade, looks really nice on pink lips. These stains are light in texture hence can be worn in any season. The color tends to darken as times goes. The price part is quite decent so I would suggest investing in at least one of them just to experiment. There are other two shades which I really like a lot Eve and Juliette. But this one is meant for only fair skin tones.
