Okay please excuse the lame jingle. I was suddenly transported to 3rd standard where I used to come up with such stupid rhymes and dreamt of being the next best poet in India. But you read right, I do have a bold lipstick up here today.

The colour Intense Ruby is a deep ruby shade with fine berry shimmer. Yes the shimmer is coloured too. Desi girls this your maroon red lipstick. It has intense colour pay off and goes opaque in one swipe. The pigmentation is so rich that I have to blot since I don’t wear such deep lip colours. The shimmer in this doesn not translate much onto lips. You can see the shimmer in hand swatches but its hardly detectable in the lip swatches.

If you have used any of the L’Oreal Paris Color Riche lipsticks in the past, you must be familiar with the soft creamy formula and this one is no different. You don’t need a lip balm underneath it and dry lips girls can easily carry it off. Th wear time is better than Burning Sunset. Since the colour is so rich, it easily lasts for 6+ hours and leaves behind a deep red stain.

The Color Riche lipsticks are so soft that they get dents on the tube (the same issue you face with the Nyx round lipsticks) so you need to handle them carefully in summers. I have issues with shimmer in my lipstick but this one is much subtle than the Burning Sunset from the same range.

This will make for a great retro red. Or you can blot out the colour and wear as lip stain for day time. I have worn it both ways and got compliments. Well…ok some people were taken aback (read SHOCKED!) since they never had seen me in a bold colour before. I have a few pictures of the whole look I did, shall post them soon. Mental note: I must not forget. I must not forget.

So is it for you? Yes if you are looking for a deep ruby red colour that is not too maroon but red enough to look bright and bold. This has fine shimmer but it doesn’t translate to lips. The texture, longevity and formula are all good so you get what you pay for. If the colour is too bold for you, then you can blot it out to wear it as a red lip stain. Either way it gives raspberry lips.
