I am a total klutz when it comes to lining my eyes nicely with liquid eyeliners and mostly make do with a hint of kohl just applied hurriedly along my lower lash-line. However, ever since gel liners have popped their heads into our lives, lining has been a cakewalk and I adore them obviously! Recently I got hold of a gorgeous brown shade of gel liner of l’oreal paris from abroad and it is our star for today- Infallible Lacquer Liner 24HR in shade Espresso. Let’s start with the review and swatches.

 L’Oreal Claims: A glossy, lacquered eye is now easier than ever to create. Infallible Gel Lacquer Liner 24H glides on smoothly for a clean, precise line that keeps an intense, high-shine finish from dawn to dusk.

My Review:

The packaging of L’oreal paris is that of a typical gel liner- in a heavy cute glass pot with a screw-on secure lid (golden for l’oreal gel liners) and comes with a very cute and convenient brush applicator having soft non-scratchy yet firm bristles. Easy to carry but of course has to be stored upside-down like all gel liners to prevent drying up.

The texture of loreal lacquer liner is heavenly- gel liner in a creamy rich base, applies easily like a dream and in a single stroke, minimizing the chances of mistakes for stupid people like me. Does not irritate or tug on my eyelids even when I apply on my lower lash line.

The shade Espresso is true to its name and is a beautiful rich black coffee color where it plays tricks- appears brown and sometimes almost black. It is ideal for any complexion or any occasion be it for office wear or on a date! A universally gorgeous shade. The pigmentation is top-notch and a single dip with the brush is almost successful in covering the entire length of my upper eyelid with rich opaque color and mind you, mine is large!

Staying power of l’oreal 24hr gel liner is amazing as well even on my oily lids and does not budge, fade/streak through my entire day of 12-13 hours even after splashing water on eyes. Impressive huh? It only budged after I massaged my eyelids with olive oil. Did not irritate my sensitive eyes.

The pros of L’Oreal Infallible Lacquer Liner 24HR Gel Eyeliner Espresso:

• Cute sturdy glass pot packaging and comes with a convenient brush applicator
• Creamy gel-like amazing soft texture- very very easy to apply without any hassles
• Beautiful rich black espresso color- looks universally flattering on everybody
• Great pigmentation- a single light stroke gives opaque color
• Staying power is great as well and does not budge/streak or flake till removed
• Did not irritate my sensitive eyes

The cons of L’Oreal Infallible Lacquer Liner 24HR Gel Eyeliner Espresso:

• The pretty shades aren’t even launched here in India

Do I recommend? Quality, pigmentation, shade, staying power everything is amazing really considering it’s a drugstore gel eyeliner but the only gripe is that shade unavailability here. If you have any friends/relatives abroad or going on a holiday, keep in mind to pay a visit to target/costco to pick up these everyday useful liners. Recommended!
