L’OR ELECTRIC Color Riche Lipstick Burning Sunset

L’Oreal Paris Color Riche Lipstck Burning Sunset 294 (Made For Me Intense) Review, Swatches
My mom always give me those I-don’t-get-you glances whenever we shop together. Like last week when we went shopping to Sarojini Market (my mom is the best shopping partner ever!), I was jumping at every fuchsia pink, glow-in-the-dark green or electric blue dress I came across. And the next minute I was jumping at the soft beige and off white satin tops. After an hour or so she stopped me and asked in a very interrogation like tone “Colour or NO Colour??
I think I belong to both the groups..can’t leave either of them! Like the way I wear nudes, soft pinks, neutrals and MLBBs while leaving home but come back with orange or red lips. And this lipstick I’m showing you today has seriously given me some dual-personality disorder.

The Colour Burning Sunset is very true to its name. It is bright orange but has enough amount of red and yellow in it to resemble the glory of the setting sun. When you roll up the tube for the first time, you are bound to get a mini heart attack with all the shimmer packed into it (click on the picture above for a closer look). But once you swipe it, you get a full blast of orange red colour along with some diffused gold shimmer. The lipstick gives a high glossy shine with all that diffused shimmer in it. It makes your lips look plumped up.

Pigmentation: Below you see one very feather light swipe of the lipstick. I barely touched it against my skin and got a full OPAQUE colour. I apply it with my fingers or a lip brush since I get way more colour than I want.

Texture, Longevity, formula and other things: If you have used any of the L’Oreal Paris Color Riche lipsticks in the past, you must be familiar with the soft creamy formula and this one is no different. You don’t need a lip balm underneath it and dry lips girls can easily carry it off. It glides on easily like butter. Its packed with shimmer though its not gritty or chunky like the Maybelline High Shine lipsticks. I get about 4 hours of wear with meals and it leaves behind an orange stain along with some shimmer before wearing off completely. It is not transfer proof and I’m not a fan of lip stains on the glasses I use!

The Color Riche lipsticks are so soft that they get dents on the tube (the same issue you face with the Nyx round lipsticks). If you are not a fan of shimmer on your lips, try it in the stores first before getting it since this is loaded with shimmer. I’m myself not a great shimmer fun. So, I restrict it to night time outings. Or I apply it with fingers during the day to get a tinge of colour.

Now time for some gyaan. If you saw my post on Fan Bingbing‘s makeup breakdown, you know she flaunted THIS lipstick on Day 1 of Cannes 2012. The colour is difficult to capture and the yellow in it comes out more in the photos when it is actually reddish orange. Also, Barbara Palvin is also sporting this lipstick dabbed with a very light hand on top of some other lipstick, now you know where all that glossy shine is coming from.

Pooja asked me to compare it with my other orange lipsticks. Mac So Chaud is more tangerine and cool and matte. Deborah Atomic 03 has very no red in it. L’Oreal Always Apricot is sheer and less orange.

Price: Rs.785 ($15)

So is it for you? Yes if you love orange lipsticks and equally like glossy shine and shimmer. This is all packed into one. The lipstick is creamy, amazingly pigmented and stays on for 4hours with meals. If you don’t like shimmer I would not recommend it to you. L’OR Electric rangeCannes Electric range has colours which are bright, blingy, electric and bold. And if I’ve to pick up my personal favourite from the whole range, it has to be this lipstick (I’m a lip colour addict!).
