Lakme Absolute Gloss Addict lipstick in Perfect Plum Review

In all these years of my lakme acquaintance I have mostly loathed all their lipsticks barring their 9 to 5 range last year which I simply loved. This year too, when the gloss addict lipsticks were launched I did go to try them out at the counter but their OTT price and unexciting shades made me go blehh..however, recently I saw some new shades being added to this range which is s upposedly the kareena kapoor signature collection and loved a couple of shades! I have one of them for review and swatches today called Perfect Plum.

My Review:
I really really love the neat classy packaging of this gloss addict range with a glossy gunmetal twist up body and a clear cap which is extremely helpful in setting your colors apart.
The texture is amazing- light, glossy, smooth and not at all heavy. It is very like mac luster lipsticks and won my heart instantly as I slathered it on my lips. Applies very easily and evenly and does not highlight the flaws!
The shade Perfect Plum is not really plum as the particular color name itself tends to turn off a lot of ladies (me included) It is instead a beautiful mauve tinged dark pink which looks so yummy and juicy on lips. The glossiness fades within half an hour though.
The pigmentation is okay-ish, with a minimum of 3 swipes required to get proper color and even then owing to its buttery texture, you will still have your natural color peeking out which is completely fine with me but maybe an issue for ladies with lip pigmentation problems.
The lasting power is err pretty abysmal with it making a bare 2 hours stay on my lips without eating drinking. 800 bucks whoosh like that!

The pros of Lakme Absolute Gloss Addict Lipstick Perfect Plum:

- Buttery smooth glossy texture which applies like a dream on lips- easily and evenly.
- Does not emphasize lip flaws!
- A very pretty mauvey dark pink color which instantly brightens up complexion and gives a juicy pout
- Does not dry out lips after wearing off!
- A mild vanilla fragrance which is very nice!
The cons of Lakme Gloss Addict Perfect Plum:
- Overpriced!!!!
- Lasting power is horrible!

Do I recommend? Uh-huh..the shades are good in this Gloss Addict Kareena Kapoor collection but they are nothing out of this world that’s for sure and the lasting power is blehh so if you can cough up 800 for a lakme lipstick, its better to go all the way up to 1450 for mac and indulge in better quality and a fantastic range of different shades! That sad truth apart, these have a really beautiful glossy texture, feel so very hydrating and comfortable on lips and are a pleasure to whip out and touch up (more so for its sexy packaging!) So do try a couple out if you are a lakme fan or just a lipstick hoarder

Honestly, at first I did not like these lipsticks at all. But after a while I have fallen in love!
The color is so pretty (except maybe the teeny tiny glitters)…it is a pity it doesn’t stay :(
I like the texture but staying power is like an average sheer lipstick.
i tried these at the store but did not like the pigmentation or the texture..plus the price was totally unfair!
so sad that its not up to the mark..
irrespective of the cons, it’s a beautiful color but the price… whooping 800 bucks
