If you have ever bought a beauty product solely for the packaging, raise your hand! The Lakme Absolute nail polish range is just pure evil. The bottle is just sooo sexy sleek, it deserves to be sitting somewhere in the drawing room as a show piece. So anyway, no prizes for guessing that I was won over. And before I knew it, I was picking up my very first Fast & Fabulous nail polish. I decided to ‘go green’ (I think I may have taken the go green initiative the wrong way!) so let me review and swatch my latest love: Storm Green!

I think I have raved about the packaging enough so let’s move on, shall we? No wait, I have a bone to pick with the cap of the bottle. Yes that sleek shiny thing. It’s so wide, the shape makes it nearly impossible to hold. I wish it had been smaller like other nail polishes. Sure it looks nice but still! Anyway, moving on to the nail polish  itself – Storm Green is a slightly blue-based green nail paint with no shimmer at all – it has a completely creme finish. Lakme claims that the Fast & Fabulous nail polishes have a ‘unique brush for one stroke application’. Well that’s nonsense. The brush is really wide but it doesn’t cover the entire nail PLUS the application is a bit streaky. Fail.

Another small issue I have with this nail polish is that it is SO sheer! I needed to apply 4 coats to get the finish you can see in the pics – and a hint of my nail line is still visible.

However, I am SO happy with the final result – I really do think the shade is awesome and the finish definitely looks like the polish is worth 200 bucks!

Let’s go to the main claim now – ‘wet to set in 40 seconds’. Believe it or not, it’s TRUE. But hold your horses; it apparently varies within the range. Eh? Anyway, for this one, I can vouch for the fact that it does dry fast so yay! It stayed on my nails for about 4-5 days without chipping so no complaints there either. Overall, I am pretty happy with this nail polish. Thumbs up Lakme!
