Chaos! Yes it has already created a chaos (or rather sensation) among the lipstick lovers. Before writing this review I found at least four women who took this “chaos” home. The name Red Chaos gives you an idea of it being a red lipstick but nope it’s not. It is a lovely red toned pink shade which I bet you can’t ignore among the newly launched 13 shades from Lakme 9 to 5 which are perfect for office wear. Let’s start with the review and swatches.
The shade Red Chaos is warm toned rose pink which is great for office wear. This shade can suit a lot of Indian girls. Also its quite
pigmented. The rosiness goes away after a couple of hours and what remains is a brown pink tint. It is creamy matte so it glides smoothly on my lips. The cream texture definitely adds to the non-drying part and you can happily skip the lip balm before applying it. It looks creamy when freshly applied but settles to a matte finish which I just love! Love! The lipstick comes in a rosy metallic golden cute case which look really classy and not boring like the absolute range one.
Now the two things that bother me a lot. First is the strong fragrance. I don’t know why lakme lipsticks have this kind of strange scent that bothers my nose. Another is the staying power of the lipsticks. It wouldn’t have been a problem had they marketed it as a regular lipstick but they claim to last from 9 to 5 which is way exaggerated. I have two lipsticks from this range and neither of them stays for more than 4 hours. Lakme if you are reading this then kindly do something with the scent and staying power.
Anyways enough of my Blah! Blah! Here I am summarizing the total review.

Thumbs Up points:
The colour is a pretty warm wearable pink.
Matte but non-drying
Affordable budget price.
Classy rose gold packaging.
Wide variety of shades on neutrals which are perfect for office wear.
Cream in texture so glides smoothly on lips.
Stays on my lips for 3-4 hours.
The Thumbs Down points:
Can’t survive meals.
When fades away leave uneven tint which look a bit awkward one.
Definitely the smell can be another reason that can stop you from buying the lipstick.
The 9 to 5 claim is very exaggerated.

Final thoughts: Lakme 9 to 5 Lipstick Red Chaos is a very wearable rose pink with warm tones that would suit all Indian skin tones. Whatever be the cons but I found this 9 to 5 range the best among other Lakme lipsticks. These are affordable and come with a variety of shades. The texture is creamy matte which stays for good 3-4 hours..although not 9 to 5 as they claim!

I recently bought the lakme absolute lipstick in cocoa pink… It has a very sickly taste to it. I am staying away from lakme for this reason :(
