So you know how sometimes you see some one pass down the street wearing an exceedingly bright-pretty colour, & you feel– ‘Damn, I wish I could pull that off, but that shade is a little too dazzling for me. Meh! ‘

At least that’s how I used to feel; so even though I absolutely love love loveee wearing pink lipsticks, I could never venture into the ‘oh- soo bright-zone.’ Not until I laid my hands on Lakme 9 to 5 Creaseless lipstick in Fuchsia Field (CP7) which I will review and swatch today. It’s literally the brightest shade of the entire collection, & trust me- it is such a wearable shade.

I have to tell you, do not get intimidated by how blazingly pink it looks in the tube; because when you do put it on, it gives this super-perky, super-bright pink colour, and yet looks flattering on everyone. It’s literally as perfect as any bright pink lipstick can ever be!

My Review:

Now, before I talk about the details, I have to confess that these Lakme 9to5 Creaseless lipsticks are like godsend. You know how long-stay lipsticks often end up drying your lips? Well, this one is probably sent by a genie because it delivers on all ends. Super-duper pigmented? Check. Long-lasting? Check. Doesn’t dry or settle into fine lines. Double check!

Moving further, Fuchsia Field (CP7) is a beautiful bright pink shade, which looks ah-maaazing on my warm Indian skin tone. (PS: I’m an NC40 at MAC). This shade is impeccable for dressing up, whether you’re going out during the day or night. I believe that if you’re wearing a shade as strong as Fuschia Field during the day, then you don’t need much makeup to complement it. Subtle eyes are more than enough during the day; and for night, the subtle eyes could use a little shimmer & you’d be good to go. Lakme 9 to 5 has introduced these shades as part of their Work-ready Collection creaseless lipsticks; however I suppose this shade could be tricky to pull off when you’re expected to look extremely professional. But, the good part is that there are always casual Fridays, even for the strictly professional offices & then this shade is going to make everyone envy you at work. And you know what’s the best part? No touch-ups!

Texture: The lakme creaseless lipstick has creamy formulation and covers my lips in just one swipe. Lakme claims that the ingredients include Vitamin E, Olive Oil & Jojoba Oil & I, for one, will totally vouch for all the moisturisation hence derived. No need for lip balm, girls, as this nourishing lipstick doesn’t get dry, or settle into any fine lines whatsoever.

Pigmentation: This has to be the most pigmented lipstick that I’ve ever tried. It has an extremely smooth formulation, & it glides on my lips. This lakme lipstick delivers its beautiful, bright shade in one swipe; and literally does not move at all.

Longevity: If I have to go to a social gathering, where I wouldn’t prefer touching up my lipstick, this lakme 9 to 5 creaseless is what I’d choose. On my lips, it stays put for at least 6-7 hours. I have tried eating/drinking and even then, it holds its ground. Even when it does fade away, it leaves a super-pretty, bright pink stain behind.

Packaging: Lakme 9to5 Creaseless Lipsticks have very similar packaging as the previous 9to5 range- covered in shiny, pastel, pink metal. So chic!

Good-points of Lakme 9 to 5 Creaseless Lipstick Fuschia Field:

• The longevity is excellent, especially at that price.
• This is a pretty, blue-based pink, which will definitely suit most Indian skin-tones.
• It brightens & dresses up the face instantly, and can be worn just on its own.
• I love the texture, & how it feels extremely moisturizing.
• Includes SPF 15, which is always good for Indians.

Not-so-good-points of Lakme 9 to 5 Creaseless Lipstick Fuschia Field:

• If you have very dry lips, exfoliating before putting this one would definitely help.
• The shade does transfer while eating/drinking
• Apart from that, nothing. Really.

In a nut-shell: I’m absolutely in love with Fuchsia Field. I used to be totally averse to wearing such super-perky, almost neon-ish pinks, but this lipstick has won me over. Whether I’m going for a Brunch, or hanging out with my girlfriends, or on a date- this lipstick is always the best bet. Pick it up if you’re looking for super-bright, yet wearable shade of pink.
