Lakme 9 to 5 Weightless Matte Mousse Lip & Cheek Color Coffee Lite: Review, Swatches

Review, Swatches, Shades, Price, Buy Online Lakme 9 to 5 Weightless Matte Mousse Lip & Cheek Color Coffee Lite

Lakme recently released this beautiful matte lip and cheek mousse in gorgeous shades. Firstly, i love multi-purpose products. They are easy to use and touch ups are a breeze. I normally use the lipstick i am wearing on that day on the cheeks also as the same colour on the cheeks and lips looks good together. Lip and cheek products like Benefit Benetint and posietint have been my absolute favorite for a very long time and these new Lakme 9 to 5 lip and cheek matte mousse

aim to compete against the TBS ones and the benefit products. I have used both TBS and Benefit lip and cheek tints and love both of them. Lets see how this one fares. I have the shade Coffee Lite which I will review and swatch today.

Shades Available: Burgundy Lush, Crimson Silk, Plum Feather, Pink Plush, Blush Velvet, Cocoa Soft, Coffee Lite, Fuchsia Suede, Rose Touch, Tangerine Fluff

My review of 9 to 5 mousse matte lip and cheek by Lakme:

Lakme Matte Mousse Lip & Cheek colour come in 10 enticing shades which range from a beautiful fuchsia to bright tangerine and a deep burgundy. The packaging is in sync with the 9-5 reinvent office range which comes in rose gold packing. The mousse tube comes with a sponge applicator which is easy to use and picks up just enough product. It feels plush and soft on the lips.

The shade coffee lite is a muddy brown shade which is making a comeback this season. It looks kind of pinky brown on the lips with more on the brown side. It also has mauve undertones. There is no shimmer in the formula. I remember the Lakme lipsticks our mother used day in and day out 20 years ago and this shade kind of reminds me of that. The shade coffee lite will be apt for winters and will suit darker skin tones gorgeously.

The texture of the weightless matte mousse feels very light and weighless on the lips like the Lakme 9 to 5 claims. I use a teeny tiny amount on the cheeks as it is too dark for my skin tone to be used as a blush. I plan to use it as a cream bronzer. It settles to a matte finish after some time. However, i have one major concern with this lip and cheek color from Lakme.

My sensitive nose does not agree with the really strong and artificial vanilla smell. It is just too strong for my liking. It kind of subsides after a while but as soon as you open the lakme nine to five matte mousse, that whiff of vanilla hits you right in the nose. So sensitive nose ladies need to smell this product before buying it.

The staying power of the lakme 9 to 5 weightless mousse is great with 5-6 hours of wear and minor fading. It fades evenly and leaves a light stain on the lips which looks good. I like how it gives a powder finish once it settles. Not too matte but a silky matte. I also love the product quantity. 9 grams of the lakme lip and cheek mousse will last a really long time. I really want to try some other pretty shades from this new 9 to 5 lakme range now like plum feather and blush velvet. Apart from the artificial vanilla smell, these new lakme lipsticks are the bomb!

If i compare it to Benetint or TBS lip and cheek tints, they are very different in texture than the Lakme one. The benefit one is a tint. The TBS and Lakme 9 to 5 mousse are creamier products and are matte. I still like Benetint a lot and have been using it since last 3-4 years. The last thing i want to say about this lip and cheek matte mousse is that i love how it does not transfer at all because i almost leave my mark on the office cup all the time.

Pros of Lakme 9 to 5 Weightless Matte Mousse Lip & Cheek Color Coffee Lite:

  • Gorgeous shades to choose from.
  • Great for touch ups.
  • Really light texture which does not feel heavy on the lips.
  • The quantity is great for the price.
  • Staying power is 5-6 hours which is great.
  • The rose gold packaging looks classy and sturdy.
  • The feather applicator is soft and does not tug on the lips.
  • The matte finish does not dry out the lips like some other matte products.
  • Fades evenly with a faint stain.

Cons of Lakme 9 to 5 Weightless Matte Mousse Lip & Cheek Color Coffee Lite:

  • The artificial vanilla smell is too strong for my liking.
  • Might seem a little expensive but the other lip and cheek products are more expensive compared to this.

Price in India: The price of this product is Rs.575 for 9gms of product.

VNA Rating: 4.75/5

Conclusion: I like how this lakme lip cheek mousse feels on my lips. The shade coffee lite is too dark to be used as a blush for fair skin tones but i am going to use it as a cream bronzer. It is a nice shade for winters and the texture is perfect. It feels lightweight and soft on the lips. Also it does not make the lips feel dry. The staying power of the lakme matte mousse is also great as i just have to touch up once after lunch and i am good for the whole day.

It survives light snacking and drinks which is a great thing. I am going to try some other shades soon. Have you tried the Lakme lip and cheek mousse? Which is your favorite multi-purpose product? Share your experience in the comments below.

  • Hi the texture looks more like the YSL kiss and blush...or the recently launched NYX souffles.. Benefit and even TBs are kind of more liquidy... These Lakme ones seem to be a nice dupe for ysl...

  • A few days back I received a bag from Lakme that had two Lakme 9 to 5 CC Creams. When I Used Lakme 9 to 5 Beige CC Cream the face ends up looking fairer than before and you look great. The only drawback of this CC cream is that it does not give any coverage. You can still see your dark circles and it doesn't hide your acnes.
