For ages I prayed god Lakme to come up with a nude lipstick. They give us muddy browns in the name of neutral and natural for god’s sake! The reason I was so hung up on Lakme for a nude lipstick was that all the international brands offer nudes which are either too beige or too pink..so basically they don’t go really well with our brown yellow Indian skin. . Well the Lakme 9 to 5 Office Stylist makeup range was not launched then so barely a Lakme lipstick made it to the list. But boy she needs to update the list now after my review and swatches. Ladies presenting to you Lakme’s first ever nude lipstick ever! The shade is named Coffee Command..it instantly makes me crave for a cup of morning coffee!

Lakme Coffee Command is a nude brown shade with warm tones. It goes totally well with my yellow skin..I’m somewhere around nc30-35 for your reference. It never makes me look dull or sick or dehydrated or washed out. Nope none of those things. Rather it totally compliments my face and I can wear it even bare faced without any eye makeup and still carry it. Also it totally compliments my smokey eye makeup looks too. Finally a nude lipstick that’s neither peach or pink..just neutral. It is very pigmented. One swipe hides up all the pigmentation on my lips.

Lakme went matte with this 9 to 5 range. And I’m not complaining. The texture is matte but at the same times it goes on easily on my lips and never feels dry. I’m in love with the formula. It never feels heavy on my lips. As far as the staying power goes then it stays on me for 4-5 hours without meals. After a meal it fades away completely. The darker shades in this lipstick range leave behind a stain but this one doesn’t.

I could not detect any strong fragrance in the lipstick.

The packaging of these 9 to 5 lipsticks is classy and so new. I can flaunt them in the ladies room without feeling ashamed!

The shade is appearing a bit deeper in the hand swatches then it actually is. Its not too-brown..don’t worry!

 As you can see, it looks totally natural on me..sometimes I even forget I’ve applied a lipstick!

And this is how it looks on my face. I’m not wearing much makeup apart from the regular kohl and eyeliner

It totally suits me and never washes me out!

Pros of Lakme 9 to 5 Lipstick Coffee Command:

Recommendation: Lakme 9-to-5 Lipstick Coffee Command is a good budget option for those looking for a nude lipstick for dark Indian skin. You can see the swatches to see how the shade looks on me. The texture and formula is great. Its matte, non-drying, creamy, stays for 4-5 hours. I highly recommend this shade to everyone!

  1. Nice review dear.. I loved your nails .. are you wearing anything on them? If so.. what? :)
    One more question, have you permanently straightened your bangs and crown hair? I want to know more about straightening just the crown hair coz even though I love my curly hair, I ould like to straighten my bangs as the curls never stay put there coz of constant touching and putting behind the ears. Thanks!

    Nope my nails were bare
    And I use a straightner to straighten my bangs almost everyday. And there is something wrong with my crown hair..don’t know why they don’t go round round :P
