Lacto Calamine claims: Daily nourishing lotion for oil control and Maintaining skin vitality with the goodness of Kaolin and Glycerin. Maintenance of skin pH is essential for glowing healthy skin. Daily use gives you healthy, glowing and nourished skin.

• Kaolin contains natural minerals, acts as an exfoliator and helps in dead skin removal.

• Zinc oxide with antiseptic properties helps protect skin from acne breakouts and helps reduce dark spots and blemishes.

• Glycerin moisturizes the skin.

My Review:

I have sensitive acne prone skin which tends to get oily during summers. And hence I am always on a hunt of products that won’t irritate or break out my skin and at the same time control the oil secretion. My friends many times recommended the lacto calamine daily nourishing lotion to me but this simple looking lotion with no tall brightening or anti-ageing claims, never caught my attention. But when I developed a skin rash and my dermatologist recommended it, I finally gave it a try. And I am nothing but happy ever since I did. Since then this lotion has become a ‘Must have

’ and a ‘summer essential’ product for me.

It comes in a simple and light weight white plastic bottle with a Purple coloured cap from which product can be easily squeezed out. The lacto calamine lotion has a light pink tint to it and is little thick in consistency. Fragrance is certainly not that great and it does feel like a medicinal cream but it is definitely not overpowering and it is gone as soon as you apply it on your face.

The skin balance lotion is absorbed quickly into the skin and gives a matte like finish. Best part is that it really fulfills its oil control claims. I apply it in the mornings every single day and my face is non oily for a good 6-7hours. My skin does looks fresh and non greasy even after hours of application. It also has a very soothing effect when applied and never causes any break outs. In fact it is considered to be one of the best moisturizers for an acne prone skin. It is easily available on every chemist shop and also online and I have seen many dermatologists recommending it too. Because of its soothing effect it can also be applied on any skin rash or allergy. Since the bottle is light weight, whenever I travel I just pop Lacto Calamine into my handbag and I am ready to go.

• Doesn’t really act on reducing dark spots or blemishes as claimed by the company.
• Does not have a very pleasant fragrance
