People say your imagination takes you places. Liars! Mine often lands me up in uncomfortable situations. Like when I was told about this Kaya Aqua Radiance treatment where they give you a facial with a water jet, I immediately imagined a 5 inch hose pipe being sprayed on my face and started calcuting the water pressure and almost blurted out “umm..no thanks. my sensitive skin won’t be able to take it” but sanity prevailed and I behaved like a smart and mature girl and instead asked “so tell me more on the jets..like maybe how big they are?”

I went for the Aqua Radiance Facial Treatment at the Kaya Skin Clinic in Kamla Nagar, North Delhi which is very close to my place and still managed to reach an hour late..because I had a viva that morning. And we all know how vivas can mess up your brain so I was still under the hangover. Well ofcourse I didn’t say that! Traffic you know! *wink*

I was given an apple drink which I sort of like and ushered to the room with all the equipment and the lady who was in charge of me. The whole session took around 1 hour. The process included cleansing, toning , exfoliating, massaging and finally they apply a gel face pack. First she did some cleansing with the jet spray with some saline water and oxygen. Later on during the toning and exfoliation stage the water is mixed with different vitamins and minerals. The hand jet spray turned out to be really tiny (and not a hose pipe!) so she was moving along my entire face in circular motions. Except for the blackhead removal part which is always scary, it was not painful.
I won’t go ahead and say it was “relaxing” because its not spa like. You are aware of the water being sprayed on your face and neck. But my hair and ears were covered so the water didn’t make me uncomfortable. And every 5mins she was asking me if the pressure is okay which is good.

This is the beast..the jet spray machine
When I saw my face in the mirror I wanted to scream honestly..it was all red..totally RED! I know my skin is very sensitive to facials and turns red after threading and waxing but I didn’t expect it. Turns out the skin gets red after this jet facial for everyone. The redness stayed for an hour or so and then it cleared. I didn’t see any dramatic change until the second day to be honest. It was only the next day I noticed how my skin looked so clear. All the blackheads and whiteheads reduced to a good extent and my face felt smooth and soft. It also looked quite radiant.
I was not allowed to use makeup or soap till the next day. Neither did I need to. And good that I had my parlour visit a day before the facial because you are not supposed to get any parlour activities done for a week. And no sun exposure for 3-4 days but since I was meeting sailor the next day (why do you think I went for the facial!) I slathered on a lot of sunscreen and I was good.

I was really looking forward to have a consultancy session with the Kaya dermatological but there was none. I have been to the Kaya Clinic and I’ve not seen a derma there. Some of my friends who visit their clinics in other cities and areas have had some personalized and detailed recommendations from the derma so I hope they get one in this too..otherwise whats a clinic without a doctor.
You should go for Kaya Aqua Radiance Treatment if you want deep cleansing. It is also good for girls with dry skin since the continuous water and oxygen spray hydrates your skin. Schedule it 2-3 days before an important date because the glow takes time to show up. And get the threading done before the facial. Overall its effective and within budget.

Kaya laser hair removal is not permanent.Moreover ur skin around the lasered area gets pigmented to a dark patchy black and that area gets sweaty like crazy.I took the laser hair removal service service on upperlip and underarms.Have never stopped repenting since thenMoreover the hair comes back with double growth.Kaya is a horrible place, please spare your money and save urself .What a waste of time, money and energy.
I have taken painfree laser hair removal from kaya. Complete 6 sittings. So I am in a position to rate kaya’s hair removal. They will sell you a package on their whim, not caring about what will suit you. Because higher sale gives them a higher commission. It is a very unscrupulous policy. As the staff will only care about their commission and not your well being. Kaya’s laser does not work. I have only 20% or may be a little less, reduction in hair. i have taken acne treatment…it is completly waste, i have spent 40k on this as they were suggesting me to take 6 sesions first,here was little improvement(10%) again they said to 6 more sessions and i have taken second time aswell by beliebing in them blindly…my skin became much more worse than it was before treatment…i hae wasted huuge amount…disaster ,worst clinnic..completly commercial doctors who will simply force you take some treatmnets by saying that there might be chnaces of ur skin becoming worst and stuff which i suggest not to believ in if u visit kaya
I recently visited a Kaya Clinic and was shocked at the way the consultation was offered. The dermatologist at?the clinic superficially checked my face and began selling me?their products and services. There was no proper and thorough investigation of the medical history of the patient, lifestyle patterns, neither any tests were recommended.No proper diagnosis was offered. They offered me services package worth Rs 1 lakh.
A few days later I visited another dermatologist who actually diagnosed the reason and cause of my skin problems. The doctor diagnosed that my skin pigmentation was due to a condition called Acanthosis Nigricans and gave me medication accordingly. I have been taking the medicines and applying two serums recommended by the doctor and in 20 days the pigmentation has come down by nearly 30 percent and my skin has also smoothened a lot.
I researched a bit and found that Kaya was also in violation of the Code of Medical Ethics Regulations by Indian Medical Council through Part III Section 4 of the Gazette of India, dated 6th April 2002(http://goo.gl/mDpfEb),
Some of these violations include:
-Kaya charged me Rs 595 for consultation charges but didnt provide any diagnosis about the cause and reason for my skin pigmentation. Government regulation make it compulsory for doctors to provide a diagnosis and prescription.
-Secondly the rule requires that any doctor providing consultation needs to mention their medical registration number along with her medical qualifications which are not mentioned in the document provided by Kaya Clinic(check link http://goo.gl/od43Ya)
-Consultation lacked any in-depth investigation of patient’s medical issues, medical history and Kaya services like laser resurfacing/Microneedle RF and chemical peels were recommended, which is against the law.
The above are only a few of the violations I spotted. I have infact highlighted these issues to senior management of Kaya including Harsh Mariwala, Kaya CEO Subbu. They haven’t cared to respond, while their customer care head reverted with one liner saying that Kaya complies with all laws. I asked her to explain specifically about the issues of violation I have raised and I am still awaiting a specific response.

What’s shocking is that Kaya has been violating the laws for the past 12 years. Incidentally I have a call recording of a senior medical staff of Kaya admitting that they dont follow the regulations and are working towards complying to these regulations.
Hope the review helps each of the Kaya’s existing and prospective customers to demand from Kaya that they follow the law of the land. Next time you visit ask for doctor’s qualification at Kaya Clinic, ask for their specialization, their registration number, and the registration number of the Kaya Clinic itself. All these information need to be mentioned in the consultation/diagnosis they hand over.
Kaya waste of money and time. Totally unsatisfied with the acne treatment. Zero results. After the treatment for 3 months were done, and i had just one session left with no results. I was told by the skin specialist that I need to increase my intake of water and have fruits. Even a kid knows that you should drink plenty of water and eat fruits. But no solution was rendered for the acne. The mask and peel only increased the acne. And even after using all the acne kit provided religiously there was no result. I would never go back to kaya. If you’ll can’t provide a permanent solution for the acne. Atleast the 3 month treatment should provide some temporary relief to the clients, it is not a cheap treatment I paid 16000 for zero results. I wonder if other patients too experienced the same dismay at your clinic. Because I did not have severe acne. Just had a few breakouts every month. But you guys at kaya could not even provide a solution for that. Wonder what the other patients with severe acne might have felt……
