I know it sounds toooo filmy but I’m just toooo happy today that am writing a review here….yupppieeee…thanx Anshita for starting this awesome blog and giving me this lovely opportunity to join Team VNA. For my first review and swatch here I have chosen a loose powder from Inglot. Inglot products are paraben free and are not tested on animals. This translucent loose powder

comes in 9 shades so one can easily find a match. I got no.210 which is the lightest shade in the range. As we all know loose powder is used as the last step to set the makeup and prevent it from melting so this product is a must have for oily/combination skinned gals. I have got a combination skin with oily t-zone and got this product around       May this year to set my L’oreal Infallible foundation.

Ingredients:

Silica, mica, aluminium hydroxide, caprylyl glycol, lauroyllysine phenoxyethanol, hexylene glycol.

May Contain: boron nitride, methicone, polyperfluoromethyl-isopropyl ether, red 40 lake(Cl 16035), ultramarines(Cl 77007), iron oxides(Cl 77491, Cl 77492, Cl 77499).

Maannnnn!! That’s quite a lot of weird named chemicals. Also silica and mica have been named 1^st which means they are the main ingredients but I read somewhere that both of these are not good for the skin in the long run.

My Review:

As told before my sole purpose for buying this was to set my liquid foundation which tends to give me slightly oily t-zone in summers after 2-3 hours of wear.

For getting the product out, I just turn it upside down and pat 2-3 times on its bottom and then open it in same position. Enough of the product comes in the cap and I just swirl my brush into the powder and with a light hand move the large powder brush on my entire face. The product feels very soft and gives a light feel unlike the feel of a compact. It gives a matte effect with no coverage of its own and controls the oil upto 4-4.5 hours on my skin.

Packaging: The packaging is nothing to rave about. It’s just the same as lots of other brands’ loose powders are packed. The loose powder comes in a transparent tub with a black cap. Its small enough to carry around in purse/clutch for touch-ups. Inside the tub is a plastic lid with small openings for the powder to come out. Also given in the tub is a small white sponge which I feel is useless because it’s too small and would take ages to cover the whole face.

Texture: The texture of the loose powder is like silk (maybe because of silica). It’s feather light on the skin and blends smoothly without any effort.

I don’t use it very often but at times I do use it alone without foundation only for the fact that it gives good oil control.

The shade I was matched to by the SA was the lightest in the lot numbered 210. However I feel it’s a bit light for my skin and gives me a slight whitish feel which is not as apparent on seeing in person but in photographs my face looks white (not ashy but fair types white). You can see this in the hand swatch also.

What I like about Inglot Translucent Loose powder:

1. Has feather like texture.
2. Doesn’t feel heavy on the skin.
3. Is available in 9 shades so 1 can easily find a perfect match.
4. Gives a matte effect.
5. Blends smoothly.
6. Successfully controls oil upto 4-4.5 hours.
7. Is small enough to carry in purse/clutches for touch-ups.

What I don’t like about Inglot Translucent Loose powder:

1. For me the 1^st and foremost is that the shade doesn’t is too white for me. L
2. Price wise quantity of 1.5 gms is quite less.
3. Full of chemicals.
4. Oil control could have been better.

Verdict: Inglot Translucent Loose Powder is a decent loose powder to set the foundation and control oily t-zone and you may go for it if the price is not a hitch for you and of course only if you find a match for your skin tone (don’t check in store lighting but always in natural light).
