I’d wanted this very Inglot lipstick ever since we (Anshita and I) saw a girl wearing it in college. She seemed to be very proud about it because when we dared a friend to ask her about the lipstick, she replied “inghhlott 421” with her nose up high. I got this “chuull” for getting it and finally bought it a few days ago. I craved it so bad that I just marched in the store as soon it opened (the poor SA was still doing her makeup) asked for it, paid and left within 2 minutes without even trying it on myself! Thank god it was not out of stock, otherwise I might’ve gone mad and thrown a tantrum. Let’s start with the review and swatches.
421 is a bold matte pink with berry tones. It would look hot pink on very fair skin tones though. It definitely is a head turner. The pigmentation is also excellent. A single swipe is enough to cover any lip pigmentation. Layer it on for a bolder look. Undoubtedly it is one of the best pink lipsticks in India and when its matte you just can’t ignore it.
The texture of the lipstick is matte, totally matte which I love. Proper exfoliation and moisturisation is required otherwise it would look flaky and accentuate lines. I used it without lip balm and it started to feel dry after 2 hours. So I always use a thin layer of clear lip balm underneath to avoid dryness and for easy application. My lips do not feel dry for 4-5 hours with the lip balm.
It has a very fruity berry like fragrance which goes away after a few minutes of application. I like my products with nice fragrance but it could be a problem for some.
The staying power is amazing. It stays on for about 7-8 hours and stains the lips heavily. The stain looks as bright and dark as the lipstick. It survives light meals but will not be able to survive noodles and chicken. A slight touch-up would be required after heavy meals. Also it transfers, but then again which lipstick doesn’t.
The lipstick comes in a black square metal case which looks so elegant and classy. Honestly, the packaging is better than MAC. I just love to flaunt it in restrooms in front of other girls.

My lip swatches with it. I had re-touched it after a full meal so you can see a bit of creaminess but its totally matte otherwise
