Finding an < strong>affordable facewash in India
The packaging on this product is quite sturdy and it comes fitted with a green cap which clicks securely into place after every use. One only has to squeeze the tube gently for the product to come out.
The facewash has a gel like texture to it which you wouldn’t like if you are a fan of lathering up your facewash. The facewash has a mint green colour to it. There is almost no lather produced when you wash your face with it. It does, however, leave the skin squeaky clean afterwards and gives a cooling effect on the skin. This is because of the menthol present in it which can be a skin irritant. The product itself has a strong fragrance to it which remains for a few minutes after you have used it.
The reason that this product has left me sorely disappointed is because of the list of ingredients that are mentioned on the back of the tube. Himalaya products are known for their herbal and natural properties and they are also known to be gentle on the skin. They have almost never left me wanting but this one has failed because of the amount of chemicals that are present in the product. Ingredients like alcohol and menthol are famous for drying the skin out and draining moisture from the skin and yet this product is marketed for dry skinned people. Even though the cooling effect of menthol on the skin may feel soothing but it is quite harmful for the skin as it is the first sign of irritation.
Yes, there is aloe vera extract in it with glycerine and cucumber extract but the effects of these are useless if they come with ingredients like alcohol, fragrance, ammonium lauryl sulphate and menthol which completely counter act the effects of the good ingredients on the skin. Instead of preventing the skin from drying (as it claims to), it leaves the skin dry and tight. Moisturizing is a must after using this product for dry skin or else the tightness of the skin will remain. It is, however, quite efficient in leaving the skin clean but it certainly does not do what it claims to on the pack.
Price: Rs.85 ( can be found on discount in places like D Mart)
VNA Rating: 2/5
Conclusion: Dry skinned people please stay away from this. If you have combination to oily skin, I would suggest that you look for other products in the market.
