Forest Essentials Revitalising Kashmiri Walnut Gel Facial Scrub

Okay before I run off to Chandni Chowk to get myself an anarkali (my first ever) for my friend’s wedding I wanted to sneak in this skin care review. Her wedding is on 8th Sep and I still haven’t shopped. Still! No I mean I have been searching from last 2 months but nothing caught my attention. Omg what am I gonna do! Alright Anshita. Let’s just relax here. Old Delhi has plenty of good stuff to offer and I am sure I would find “the” one today. That’s right. Oh yes the review today. Okay I’m not gonna write something flowery….its a face scrub dammit! Plus I’m super late to think of something. Actually what got me into writing this review is the fact that its a gel scrub…new!

Forest Essentials Claims: An exfoliating scrub with finely milled Walnuts in a pure Aloe Vera and vitamin A
and E packed gel base. While the Aloe Vera and Vitamins stimulate cell regeneration, the oil-rich Walnut has a deep cleansing action which brightens the complexion by gently removing dead cells and impurities.

USP: Paraben free, Free from synthetic fragrance, Natural scrubbing agents, Free from chemical solvents.

The walnut scrub granules are very light and non-abrasive. Sensitive girls would like that. It takes care of dead cells and the oil. Post results are super soft and smooth skin. And yes I do notice a subtle glow as well. This is like sunday skin care treat to myself. And since it has got aloe vera gel so it takes care of the moisturization. I don’t notice any dryness or stretchy feeling post wash.

And just look at the scrub. The chocolate brown colour gives at as coffee scrub look! And I love my home made coffee scrub….will share the recipe sometime. It looks so edible! But I do have an issue with the packaging. Since its a scrub so you need to regularly dip your fingers in it while using and the tub packaging makes it a wee bit unhygienic. I’m not ooh-so-sophisticated but jar scrubs bother my inner Aquarian somehow.

Let’s look at the photos:

The label only says “Facial Scrub Walnut Gel” so I initially thought it was different from the Kashmiri scrub but the website shows only one facial scrub. So I guess they just shortened the name on the sample size jar!

Price: Rs.995 for 50g (the one in the post is 25g – travel size)

VNA Rating: 4/5

So is it for you? Forest Essentials Revitalising Kashmiri Walnut Gel Facial Scrub is a mild scrub which gently exfoliates your skin and give it a subtle glow. The granules are not harsh so that makes it a good option for those with sensitive skin. The price is a bit high but then they don’t call it “luxurious ayurveda” for nothing!

Update – Okay I just got back. Guess what? Got it!!

  1. I always cringe at the price range of FE products. Don’t get me wrong, I am not a miser, rather I am a shopping frantic. But the quality just never seem to justify however I try to convince myself. Dont you think so? :)
